Don't save.

Exit the game without saving and BACKUP your "Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves" folder BEFORE doing anything else.

If you have saved, try to recover an earlier version of your save using the Load Game > Recover Save (it's the little floppy disk icon before the Delete button).

Many mods are broken right now, so if you're modding, you likely have something conflicting with the game.
