The thing is, though, the bugs make the game far cheaper than EA is setting the price as. Due to the bugs, there were expansions that I may have wanted before I stopped buying, but didn't after hearing all the bad reviews.
Yeah, I know TS4 isn't considered open world. For me it is, because it becomes too overwhelming. TS3 was unplayable for me due to its style, and TS2 is perfect for me. TS4 is like the middle ground compromise that I can semi handle so long as the family sizes are kept down.
I don't find a need for mods that add gameplay in TS4. I own most packs now (ignoring kits) so there is a lot to do, especially if you play normal lifespan with humans. And maybe part of it IS because I effectively skipped TS3, so the differences are much bigger between TS2 and TS4. I mainly have QOL mods. They're not needed, but they make things less dumb or more interesting (like removing insects from herbalism potions because they are so difficult to find at times, or giving the woodworking bench more crafting options along with a simple living material requirement. Or making prom long enough to actually complete because your sim just stands there for half of it instead of doing what you told them to).
I've not had any major problems, at least with the packs I DO have. I think I've mostly lucked out that it's just major annoyances. I think the only real bug I had that was more than that, and it still wasn't game breaking, was all holidays not popping up their little event things for any adults so they were incapable of completing holidays.
I run into scripting errors constantly, and BE yells about it but it's not got anything to do with mods or a conflict so not much I can do when my sims glitch out of whatever task they had been doing.
If you don't have plenty of packs, and are coming from TS2 or TS3 then yes, it does feel like there's a lack. Obviously that would be a given, imo. If you're used to certain things just being a standard, then not having those things is very obvious.
I don't agree with some people who would say that seasons should be base game, because it's a fair amount of coding and you do need to draw the line somewhere, financially speaking. I don't agree that CC should have been part of RoM. I do however think horses should have been with either pets or cottage living because they're not impressive enough to stand alone. Especially after I watched a comparison video and... those animations were sad and bad and Maxis should be ashamed they released that dumpster fire. TS3 should not be better, they should be improving not spitting out even worse garbage.
Yeah, I am viewing packs the way I view Apple updates for my phone. Do not touch that until there's been some patches. Sadly, the big patches tend to break most mods, so even if you don't buy the newest ant farm you still get fracked over.
I'm still willing to buy stuff, but only on sale. The one exception I am considering making is BB kits (I have plenty of gorgeous CC that I so do not need the CAS only kits) and that is in part because I do actually like a lot of it, and I also cannot build for sh!t. So I find those lovely people who create lots and upload them to the gallery, but I don't want to deal with a crap ton of CC. I prefer to keep my CC needs to CAS only. Part of that is because I don't know how often BB custom content breaks. I know my CAS stuff has broken before and needed to be updated, so if I can instead get more furniture through packs... less stress on my part.
Sims are ugly as all get out though, so praises always go to the lovely creators who give us fabulous overrides and content in general, which I am all too happy to pay for, especially when the quality is better than what we have. Which is still sad, but I am also not going to whine too much since I don't need computer specs to increase.
No , it is your choice to cause this fight , you and some others that keep insulting me , calling me pedo and groomer , not real , propaganda , toxic and you think that is normal and civil and human and no problem at all. I am used to this insults btw , the whole internet is full of disaproval and rejection and insults , but I am worried at times for younger people that are lgbtg, because rejecton on a daily base does something to a person.
You said you are disabled yourself and don't feel represented and in this I think you make a very good point because I personaly think , no one should be left out in a game .
I think you should fight for that right to be seen as well and with you so many other people that have some disability because , leaving people out can feel like there is something wrong with you and should be hidden and the oposit is true .
You could start a topic here and ask if more people here are disabled and the same you could do in the EA forum as well , also in the Sims Resource, so sims forums that have many active people . So first gather people and then think of a good letter to send to EA , also what you expiernce in real life as a person that is disabled . Like maybe sitting in a wheelchair and some salesman ignores you and talks with your friend only that is standing while the purchase is for you and not your standing friend , it could help EA to program behavior of the sims .
While you in the Sims Resource with many creators , you could ask if people there can create custom content for you and also explain with them what you need , because if more custom content shows up , EA will pick up on that as well .
You need to make yourself more vissible , like I did also and many with me , that is why we show up in the Sims now , we also fought for that because there is also nothing wrong with me even if you think that but on that matter I simply stopped to take you serious .
Also because you report almost everything I say so this discussion is never honest .
But I understand your anger or maybe grief and that is why I decided to point you in the right direction . In order to make yourself visible in this game you need to take action and be smart about it . And to keep insulting me , to keep calling me all this names will simply not help your case and it will stay with insults , name calling and whatever you think you are entitled to and give yourself permission for .
I am a game dev, and as such, if someone doesn't like something about a game- especially a very popular one, trust me, I take notes. From this post alone... I can tell that adding lgbt to a game will cause a lot of angry users- so I wouldn't add it in. Another game that gets heated over the mere argument to just have straights would be Tiny Life.
And yes, when you poke fun at disabilities for anything? It's like looking at an lgbt and calling them something. IDK about you, but I take no crap.
I have said it soooo many times here, IDC how you live your life, I'm under a different law- so let me live mine.
As for disabilities? I camped on a post on the Sims website about it. Eventually the moderators shut me down. This isn't for lack of trying, EA is simply not interested.
Why isn't there any comment marked as answer yet?
People to busy fighting to answer the question?
To answer Raft; No mod exist which removes pronouns and if you really don’t want to have pronouns you need to change your language settings. Only English user have pronouns and for the rest… just delete these sims and use a mod which make all bi, as it was in the past.
It's true, though. I would rather have Sims focus on gameplay. I don't see a lot of that in this game vs, say, TS3.
Edit: Nope, they are still there with MCCC. So, the only option to remove pronouns even in CAS is to play the game in another language. I recommended French, it’s a pretty language.
However, that doesn't quite do everything- that just prevents further Sims in the future to be that way. You now also have to go in and edit every. single. Sim. that is lgbt and swap their sexual attractions, and maybe even divorce them.
It's a bit of a mess.
It takes time and more people than you alone . And it take years and you probably will not benefit from that . I am 62 and I am fighting for lgbtq right for about 43 years allready.
In law I and many with me , acomplished some safety , some human rights .
But to say I am accepted , no. And I understand that I will die in a world where I am still not accepted .
You say you don't care how I live my life but you do. Because you want to make me invisible , and not me personaly but everyone who is lgbtq . You say you don't lower yourself to namecalling but you do , and no you did not call me pedo or groomer , others did here but you are the same by calling me propaganda and wanting to delete me from the game . You say we live under a different law , we are both western people and I can write an understand English so I don't get why that should matter , we are both human .
- Have you ever read a serious science book , just to inform yourself how it can be that some people are gay or transgender and how this occurs in nature everywhere ?
- Where does your rejection come from exactly , are ever harmed in some way by a gay or transgender person ?
I am not asking for all lgbt to just vanish... I just want more straights in game. I don't really want my sims to, ya know... inbreed since they can't find an SO not already in their ligeage. I want my vampires to have a dynasty along with the immortal spellcasters, who watch as the mere humans walk around.
