How Do You Take Screenshots Of This Game?

F12 doesn't work. I can use the PrtScn key and Photoshop, but I have to upload the resulting image as artwork. I can't take screenshots.

8,600 hours into this game. Did I miss something?

F12 works for me. Do you just not seen them in your steam pictures?

(I should say I haven't played in a bit, F12 worked for me last time I played)

Don't forget the Sims can take photographs too.

There must be something overriding your Steam overlay's hotkeys if F12 no longer works.

When I hit F12 nothing happens. I have a screenshot folder, but I have no screenshots. I have to upload everything as "artwork". Maybe a re-install is in order.

Every other game F12 works fine. 400 games and F12 works just fine. I'll just re-install and see what happens. Thanks for the replies. I have about 400 hundred screenshots. It is only Sims 4 that doesn't work.

I'll just re-install. Good to know that F12 should work.

Maybe you deactivated steam overlay for The Sims without noticing it? Most of the time this also deactivate the ability to take screenshots with F12.

I have just realised that F12 doesn't work for me either, you have to click on the circular thing next to speed up option on the bottom of the screen to get to the screen capture options (I've never bothered to use it myself).

I've looked at it again and pressing C will capture the screen, also clicking on the screen capture options and looking at each option you can create a little video as well, and if you go to the screenshot manager you can delete unwanted screeenshots.

Hitting "C" key grabs a screenshot but doesn't automatically upload the image to my Steam account. If I'm playing American Truck Simulator and hit F12, Steam will show me the screenshots I took when I exit the game and automatically upload them if I approve them.

With The Sims 4, I have to navigate to Documents/Electronic Arts/ The Sims 4/Screenshots and upload them manually.

Not a big deal, but rather inconvenient.

There is an icon (screenshot manager) to share photo with twitter, haven't tried it so i don't know if that works. You can also press TAB & SHIFT for a first person view, I don't know if you can still take a screenshot then.

I did Twitter about 20 years ago. It is a home for morons. I just want to upload pictures to Steam.

You can go to the In-Game section of your Steam Settings to re-map the screenshot key just in case something is affecting the key in game. I re-mapped the overlay shortcut since it was by default the same as the First Person Mode toggle.

Photo's & Screenshots can be found in the 'Screenshots' folder (as Garce pointed out) in the Sims 4 folder, if that's any help to anyone.

My Sims 4 was, originally, installed a long time ago, and as such, doesn't appear in 'steam' anyway. I prefer it like that, seems to work more reliably.
