How to disable death by embarassment?
It's not a real thing and I would like to know how to disable it because it's not fun

You can easily prevent this by spending 2,000 satisfaction points for making your sim not getting embarrassed anymore. If you want my honest opinion I would not mind killing more sims actually (but does not necessarily require violent mods in order to kill sims) during my gameplays instead of it only just being death from old age or random accidental deaths from neighborhood stories. The latter of which I have turned off usually because I do not want just any random sims dying from accidental deaths, but only specific ones that I might want dead.

I had a Sim die of being...overly amused? It was at that jokes and hi-jinks festival and the wackiest part was that I was not even controlling the Sim at the time. Even though she was elderly, she had a maxxed-out fitness skill, was super healthy, and obviously would've lived a lot longer had that not happened. I didn't even know that could happen, but in the end I just accepted it for what it was.

I'm sure random townies have also died of extreme cold or extreme heat in my games. I had one person come on a date underdressed and had to have my Sim constantly warming them up because they were turning blue.

Honestly, I think it's kind of fun, but I can see how it can be distressing to lose Sims when you might still have plans for them. I used to take the deaths of my Sims extremely hard.

I once killed an Agnes Crumplebottom clone (meaning that she was a playable sim instead of NPC). She was dying from old age but it was taking too long and I wanted to kill her before switching to a different household. I had her die from the cold since it was cold outside by swimming in cold weather. Then grim reaper showed up so that way I could get her urn as well. The only reason why I killed her is because I wanted her urn as well before switching to a different household.

That would be Death by Hysteria. Nearly every emotional extreme causes a form of death without either using mods or buying Reward Traits to negate them.

being hysterical is easy in humour and hijinks. i tend to actually get involved when the autonomy starts doing stupid things like it always does.. abominable thing it is. when there are too many jokes i stop them from continuing to play on the humour side. very playful is fine, but if you don't get your sim to a mirror quickly to calm them down, or don't find a quick means to drag the emotional state down with a negative moodlet like leaving rubbish somewhere or a dirty diaper/nappy, the hysterical mood will kill them. death by laughter.

as for death by embarrassment? i've tried to do this before, i really tried but i've never managed it even stacking embarrassed moodlets, i sort of run out of things to get embarrassed about and positive moodlets sort of make it difficult to keep that going. one has to work hard to make that happen and circumstances to conspire in such a way that it can happen easily enough.

I don't really get the mood system. Other than avoiding having it kill sims, why does it even matter? Just make bars fill up faster sometimes?

This is the Carefree Trait buyable from Reward Points.
