The Sims™ 4

can i make it so my sim can wear glasses in his work uniform?
he's in the tech guru job and i just noticed he takes off his glasses when changing into his work outfit, which just bugs me to no end 'cause he wears them on every other outfit he has besides sleepwear and swimwear

Yep it's very annoying. Also things like hearing aids etc...

The only way I know how to fix it is with the MCCC mod (Cheat Sim Info/Modify Career Outfit).

you can use MCCC like the user above poster, you can also type in
sims.modify_career_outfit_in_cas

To be fair some people in real life are near sighted meaning they do not need to wear glasses when sitting in front of a computer, but do need to wear glasses for seeing things further away. It could potentially work that way on The Sims 4 as well if it is a career that requires using a computer. I could however understand why it would be annoying and most jobs on The SIms 4 do not require using a computer anyway besides a few of them (such as freelance career but does not include a career outfit since it is work at home, tech guru, part time jobs from High School Years, and etc...).

I am guessing that the "Plan Career Outfit" is from either Wicked Whims or its SFW alternative version, Wonderful Whims. You could try those to pick every bit of a sim's work attire.

Nah, its an in-game cheat:
sims.modify_career_outfit_in_cas

You might need to type these into the console first, I don't know as I use Twisted Mexi's mods to always have them active:

testingcheats true
cas.fulleditmode

it disturbs me that EA treats glasses as a fashion statement and not a real disability. Oh well.

I wear glasses in real life, but I do not consider it a disability at least for me, but blindness, partially blind (blind in one eye but not the other), or nearly blind obviously is a disability. I am near sighted in real life, but my eyesight is not terrible and do not need to wear glasses when reading a book or using my computer. If someone needs to wear glasses from both a distance away and up close and/or maybe going blind (but not nearly blind yet during the early stages of vision loss) because of vision loss then yes it is at least a partial disability. If a person in real life cannot get SSDI (Social Security Disablity Insurance) because of not being blind, partially blind, or nearly blind then I would not consider it a disability. People can only get SSDI for example if unable to work, but apparently people who are deaf or have hearing impairment could potentially get SSDI as well and not just blind people after I looked it up online recently despite the fact that apparently blind people get paid more money than people who are deaf or hearing impaired.

Okay, wearing glasses is a fashion statement, not something you have to do.

I do get your point across. Disability is not necessarily the right wording for it. I would say glasses are more accurately a necessity than a disability for most people who "need" to wear them in real life and even someone who needs to wear glasses for both close up and far away is only a partial disability (unless if maybe experiencing vision loss at the same time) that may not necessarily be qualified for getting SSDI.

Yeah, I get it. When my brother broke my glasses on purpose it was no big deal. Just because I couldn't read, couldn't watch TV, couldn't see the chalk board at school...
Just a fashion statement.
