Sims go to take shower constantly even when their hygiene bar is full

lots of other people seem to be having this problem as well so its most likely a bug

honestly i wish my sims would autonomously use the shower, whenever my sims hygiene gets low they always go for a swim like idiots

It's a bug. If you turn autonomy off, it's not so bad. The sims will still try to fill red moodles on their own sometimes, even with autonomy off. It does mean that running multi person households is harder.

If you use MCCC Tuner disable autonomy showering
If you don’t use mods/ or not MCCC replace all showers with bathtubs (If you still want to have autonomy for sims)

EA is already aware of this issue and plan on fixing it probably soon.
