Cant move sims into my household , gifted knitted objects and clothes wont register

for 3 days ive been trying to move my sims boyfriend in and every time it freezes my game and i have to force close. One of my sims has the knitting aspiration and needs to successfully gift 3 knitted things . ive been trying but i assumed maybe the sims she was gifting them to didnt like them, but then she gifted one to her daughter and the daughter got a moodlet that said she thought it was the perfect gift and both sims got a +1 for the relationship but it didnt register as being a succesful gift for her aspiration still :( anyone know how to fix these ?

for particular action bugs, sometimes this site is more useful than Steam.

EA broke all things move in the last update. You need to move them in from Manage Households on the neighborhood screen.
