Basement/1st Floor

I'm trying to take out the floor of the 1st floor to open it up to the basement as one tall room and I can't seem to take the floor out from the 1st Floor room. Pretty sure I've done this before but I could be wrong, is this a glitch or a "feature"?

...and why do all platforms and rooms have "something above" them even when they don't have a roof? I'm also trying to put fountains on higher levels and/or indoors but I can't b/c it says you can't place things above fountains. I could see this being relevant in low ceiling rooms but it won't let me even if I take it off.

Click the basement room. Go back to first floor. Notice the yellow lines highlight the basment room which you selected click on yellow line. And select: remove ceiling. That's it. +In sims 4 the ceiling is the floor.+. Game is tarded.

As for your further queries. No you can do jack s h I t because Sims 4 is for tards.
