Should I get For Rent pack or not?
New expansion pack is coming... Should I get For Rent or not? Also I'm going to buy Living City, I miss the modern city in The Urbz Sims In The City style.

Also, Magnolia Promenade from Get to Work may not be as useless of a world anymore with this new expansion pack, because it only has four lots. I rarely go to Magnolia Promenade during my gameplays, because it does not have enough lots. The least frequent non vacation world I visit is Magnolia Promenade. The truth about Magnolia Promenade is that I think it is supposed to be an extended part of Willow Creek that is based on New Orleans, but what I hate the most about it is that it has only four lots. Add a residential rental lot on there and all of the sudden that world might feel a little less empty.

plop a gym down, a library and a nightclub and suddenly you are looking at a fairly good experience with it.

if you have the mod "all worlds are residential", you can add the destination worlds as extra world you can use for residential and so forth. there are other lots that allows you to have npc sims already on the lot when your sim arrives so it's always ready to go, this could be useful when adding a few stalls on one of the lots that never gets used, and with the mod, those stalls get a vendor each.

the possibilities are pretty big when you think about it.

The livestream video is out now. Also, I was not expecting this, but starting today James Turner is already able to film on youtube an early access video from For Rent expansion pack. I will not share the link, but should be enough to find. James Turner is a very well known Sims 4 youtuber.

Apparently, the new world Tomerang is a great place for mermaids and mermen to live there in addition to Sulani if thinking about buying For Rent expansion pack, because it has a lot of water despite having small beaches. If you enjoy mermaids and mermen from Island Living expansion pack and already own this pack you might find yourself enjoying this world as well while playing with them here. Important to keep in mind that occult sims will be able live at residential rental lots as well and not just normal sims and pets. I can easily imagine Thailand based mermaid occult sims coming to the gallery in the near future as well. The few interesting worlds for mermaids and mermen to live I think would be mainly limited to just Sulani and Tomerang.

Can they swim in the water? I read somehow that the area is lacking. At the moment I don’t search much for information for this EP. I read a german article which was rather negative about the whole EP. Many half-baked features and many things are lacking, and the best is renting is broken as landlord and you don’t get money from your tenants. The world seems to dead. I think I will wait for LGR review if he still makes review to Sims 4.

The swimming area is massive and more massive in fact than the swimming area from Copperdale and Tartosa as well. The only closed world map that even comes close to having as much swimming water on the map is Sulani. I have watched enough early access videos at this point that I know for a fact that your sim has to travel a long distance over the water to a cave for finding stuff over there that some lore as well when visiting the cave despite it being a rabbit hole and not having any secret lot. In my opinion the cave should lead to a secret lot since there is not that much to do when you visiting the cave besides getting rewarded something, but unfortunately it does not.

Absolutely agree on this as every culture, all around the world has its own mythical version of merfolk. That stated, I can't help feel it's a lost opportunity to haven't expanded upon that occult. Of course I'd never actually have any such expectation..Because, EA.

True and you also have to swim before reaching the cave which reminds me of deep diving on The SIms 3 Island Paradise, but instead of going underwater you have to swim a long distance to reach a cave that is only a rabbit hole. Just not as exciting because of it not being open world contrary to Island Paradise and World Adventures. If you were to combine Island Living and For Rent together they seem to be somewhat similar to Island Paradise despite neither of them being as good as this expansion pack overall even when combined together while Jungle Adventures is supposed to be comparable to World Adventures but not open world and has only one vacation world instead of three vacation worlds. For Rent possibly could have some similarities as well to The Sims 2, but apartments on The Sims 2 within the same lot did not have loading screens. And of course if you want actual hotels and resorts (which Island Living did actually have resorts) that will mean spending more money from future dlc that will probably be separate packs instead of one pack for both hotels and resorts.

Honestly? Play "The Tenants" if you want the experience of being a landlord and actually profiting from it.

I already heard about that game and I totally forgot. Thanks for remind me, I'll add it in the wishlist and of course I'll buy on discount. Anyway, I read all your comments, thank you very much guys. It's hard to decide which my playstyle is but it depends if I decide to improve. Get to Work I admit it's not that bad. Finally I'm actually working for real and it feels so free. And then just to be fine I have Seasons and City Living, now with 3 DLCs I'm ok.

There is apparently a bug that prevents you from collecting rent every once a week as a landlord meaning that you might have to cheat and do the math as well with all of your tentants in how much from rent they agreed to pay if you want your landlord household to get paid weekly. On one of lilsimsie's longest youtube videos for example she pointed out that her landlords (which one of them was an elder) did not get a rent payment until after two weeks had passed towards the end of her video which I am doubting was an intended feature since I think it should be getting paid once a week instead of once every two weeks. Two weeks is also a long time for a landlord to wait for getting paid as well especially if playing on short lifespan instead of normal or long lifespan.

After spending a considerable amount of time watching early access videos I can confirm that there probably are going to be at least a few bugs and glitches coming with this expansion pack. Lilsimsie also seemed to be a little annoyed as well when trying to visit different units. I still think that For Rent is overall worth getting (although maybe not as one of the first expansion packs if you want to save money and do not already own lots of dlc) even after watching plenty of early access videos, but at the same time I am also not surprised about the new bugs coming with this expansion pack.

It's EA, it wouldn't be an EA game without lots of bugs and glitches and perhaps a silly design idea in there somewhere. If EA don't fix those bugs, you can consider them a feature. Wait a few months and see what they do with it.

From what I've seen of the early access reviews - no.

It's a big, beautiful EMPTY world, just like always. The night market that they hyped up is a couple of food stalls and a clothing stall. The animal sanctuary is a choose your own adventure rabbit hole, even the temple is just something you click on and it gives you a little pop up.

The issue from City Living where random sims simply walk into your place with no option to tell them to leave is back with this pack. So have fun with that frustration.

Even with just base game and this pack, sims still simply don't listen to what you want them to do and do what they want anyway.

As usual, there seems to be a lot of nice BB and CAS items, so people will still buy the pack, but also as usual there's a dead world and little gameplay, and as always, the gameplay is buggy.

Oh, please no! I don’t want stranger in my home again! It was one of the reasons why I stopped to play in San Myshuno in my vanilla game.

If this DLC already have so much problem with only base game. I don’t want to know how … problematic it will be if you add all other DLC to it.
