Straight up spyware
Even after quitting the game, a "EA Background Service" process continues running. This isn't a game, this is just straight spyware. Ridiculous.

that's part of EA app, which isn't a game. Though, yes, I agree it is ridiculous to have any part of the app running after you quit it.

I guess you will have to quit playing The SIms 4. Are you going to quit playing any EA games now that requires EA App to play? Not all EA Games require EA App to play (especially EA games that came before Origin). Also, you can only play on Origin for example if you play on MaC instead of PC.

Are you sure the EA launcher is actually closed and not set to minimize to tray? I just exited Sims 4 and I do not see anything running for EA.

The EA Background Service process always stays running even after completely shutting game down, you have to manually close it.

Somehow your computer isn't showing you that it's still running, but it is and always will unless you manually shut the pos down. Even if you somehow can't see it.

to be honest the app running in the background does not affect me, i just right click it and close it untill i wanna play sims the next time so i'm not being bothered by the background app running

Hey! How can I possibly close the background service app?

Just use something like Task Manager or Resource Monitor, right click process and choose terminate/end process.

That's what I do all the time.

These types of comments achieve nothing and ignore the point. You are more than welcome to not reply if you dont have anything constructive to say about the issue.

Hm, they wrote that this is fixed. For me EA Background Service + All running Task from them close after 1-3 minutes automatic. I set it that EA APP only should run with Steam if a game needs it, and never open if I start windows, which is there the default setting if you install it first.

I'm honestly not sure. The first time I ran Sims 4 yesterday I opened up task manager to look for it and I had no processes that even start with the letter "E." Then someone mentioned it's opened regardless so I re ran Sims 4 and closed it and the process was there.

So...kinda fixed?

Would not the first time if something is only half fixed. So, I tested it now: I started sims, closed it and then I waited. EA APP close almost instantly but their Background service needed 1 minute and 03 seconds to close itself without me interfere.

Now every time Windows starts I get an EA pop-up. Great.

Disable 'start EA app on Windows startup' in EA App settings. Nah..you have to disable this annoying feature on many apps. I don't let anything pop up on boot apart from occasional update details from my Sec Suite.
