Hear me out; religious options for the Sims4!
I think religion is such a huge part of peoples' lives, why not experiment with different religions or have the freedom to create traditions for your Sims, too? I think it'd be so cool!

EA won't add religion to the Sims games because it would be too much of a hassle for them and they would be pandering to the "wrong people". Meanwhile, they'll add pronouns and other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to the game cause that makes sense. They had to pander to the alphabet mafia, though. WHY do we need pronouns in a Sims game when they don't speak an intelligible language AND Sims never refer to other Sims as a man or woman? It's just stupidity at its finest.

It is a life sim, albeit a highly simplified one so they might as well have the option for simplistic takes on religion. They could base it on the depictions seen in American cartoons from the 1980-90s so they can be reduced in complexity yet not insulting to their religious audience members.
If they do release such a stuff pack or expansion, they could make some good earnings which would make an excellent offering to the god of EA, the Almighty Dollar.

Only if the religions were goofy and made up and not a reflection of real life, like a religion worshipping grilled cheese or a vampire goddess or something. Better yet, make our own religions

Personally I am religious person, but in my opinion I'm objected if a real life religions are being put into a fictional simulator game. The reason is, it will lead to big trouble for the developer itself, such as :
-if there are lots of bugs related to praying features, it will anger lot and LOT of fans.
-if there's any incorrect religious references inside the game, it will anger lots of fans too..

Guys, learn how the Wedding Story had messed up & being the most joke DLC ever.

My Wedding Stories is only good for the new world, but not for much else besides at least some cute CaS items that I may not necessarily use for every sim (although, I will admit that I do love the new shoes for female sims that can even be used for stuff not related to weddings) and probably less enjoyable on console overall than PC due to the fact you cannot get the dual weddings mod on console for the return back of basegame public weddings as another optional to the My Wedding Stories type weddings . While it may not be as bad as some people think it is at the same time they could have made more effort into making it less bugged upon when it was first released. The only gamepack that even comes close to being as bad as My Wedding Stories is Dine out; although, some people might be surprised that I actually like Journey to Batuu (5 out of 10 from this pack vs. 5.5 out of 10 from My Wedding Stories) slightly less than even My Wedding Stories. As for Dine Out (although, contrary to My Wedding Stories it has nothing to do with religion) not sure where I would rank it but at best I would give it only a 5.5 or 6 out of 10 assuming that the career actually works correctly at least to some extent with the right mod(s) (although, contrary to My Wedding Stories I have not played as a restaurant owner yet or even had my sims eat out at a restaurant yet), but I would rate it lower than 5.5 for console users.

Wedding Stories has the most negative review of Sims 4 DLC on steam.

and yeah, Dine out is the most buggy at all. so disappointing..

Years ago I built a cemetary and a chapel and learned that a family member with the urn in their inventory and some level in speaking (I can't remember) could hold a speech for the deceased. I lured the whole family into the chapel and locked all doors and the speech actually took place. While the attending sims showed each other snapshots on their mobile phones or made pushups or burst in laughter. This was one of the few scenarios that really bothered me. They just can't be serious or respectful. And as long as this doesn't change, it would be a bad idea to introduce religion or spirituality of any kind.

I even had to take the radio (playing New Age music) out of my meditation room, because they would change the station to hip hop and throw parties there.

I am aware that this is a choice the developers made and I can live with it, but it lacks depth. Also the children all seem to be loud and goofy, and yes that's how children sometimes are, but there are also shy and silent ones which don't exist in this game. I've seen other life sim game projects in development and hope they will have more depth and less cartoon.

this thread is nothing but insults to Christianity.

All I want is a cemetery where my spell caster sim can find ghosts and resurrect them like in Sims 3. In sims 4, finding the headstone of a NPC sim almost always not possible unless you were there when the NPC died.

discover university had what is considered the closest thing to religion, in the form of a secret cult, but i doubt many know about that in britechester.
I'VE HAD THAT FOR YEARS AND I DIDN'T KNOW. I'M SORRY WHAT?

I've been thinking about this lately. We haven't got any deities, and we haven't got any religious build/buy. We do have medieval stuff, but we don't have pews, or communion, baptism, prayer options, etc.

It doesn't have to be one specific religion, but at least include the basics of a religious practice. Even if the Sims pray to us, basically their god, it'd make the game more interesting.

We have same sex relations, cheating, murder, child abuse, and other stuff that's not exactly wholesome. It's not like religion isn't wholesome or relevant. Plus, the company making The Sims "prides" (as in LGBTQIA+) themselves on being inclusive, but excludes traditional activities. That's not very inclusive. We have "pride" flags. We don't have a lectern or a church building. We have séances but no prayer and worship. We have a criminal career but nothing like a priest, minister, or missionary.

I also wonder why in CAS (create-a-sim) we can choose pronouns and orientation, but gender neutral clothing doesn't exist, like we have to choose feminine or masculine. What if I want all the recommendations to be both? After all, I wear both in real life. I don't want to have to keep clicking cancel anymore for the feminine tag for every single time I add one item of clothing. It's such a waste of time.

EXACTLY! Ironic how The Sims includes "pride" stuff to be inclusive, but excludes a very common and wholesome practice of prayer and worship. It's sad how the emotions are so limited, like focused is a thing, but reverence isn't. Like, anything sacred is pooped on or excluded. I don't even know why. And when there is the supernatural, it's never the wholesome, clean and pure stuff, just pagan stuff. I'm fine with that in the game, but we need more wholesome stuff.

Just simply remove the tag. Also, gender neutral does exist. Some clothing for example is labeled as "both" masculine and feminine not only for child and younger sims, but even for teens and older as well. I personally like the masculine and feminine tags anyway in order to prevent confusion as to what gender that piece of clothing is specifically intended for. Suits for example I usually do not have female sims wear, unless if maybe it listed under both masculine and feminine tags at the same time or exclusively labeled as feminine. It could also be argued as well that there are not enough CaS options for masculine sims.

Which religion? There are more religions than there are sims.
I think if there was a demand for a particular religion, Some mod author would have made it a mission from God, god, gods, goddess, or satan to create such a mod. There are 2000 different Christian religions alone and they're wildly different, and a dozen of Islam and I have no idea about Hindu, Buddhist, Shinto, Baháʼí and other world religions. I'm ignorant about them. You can't expect EA to do it for good reason; it will be banned in some countries for having the wrong options.

If I knew how to make mods I'd make social clubs: Call it the "Llamas", sort of like the Eagles, Elks and so on.
