World Not Installed
I recently linked my EA account and added the Sims 4 to Steam.

When I'd go into the game, my DLC content wasn't available and it kept saying "World Not Installed". When I'd click on it, I was directed to the Steam purchase page for that expansion despite the game already recognising I owned it. None of the expansion/pack items were available in game.

I solved my problem by reading three different threads, so I thought I'd share how I fixed this solution in case someone else ran into it (in one thread someone reported a similar issue last week).

In my case, OneDrive was syncing My Documents which prevented me from uninstalling the Sims 4 from Origin. I could fully uninstall the Steam version no problem. I tried uninstalling the EA Launcher version but the game remained. I had to disable OneDrive, reinstall EA Launcher, reinstall the Sims 4, and then properly uninstall the Sims 4. You will not have to do this if you've successfully uninstalled the Sims 4 from both Origin and Steam. Make sure it's completely gone in the Steam and EA Games directory.

With the Sims 4 completely removed from my computer,. I was then able to reinstall it just on Steam. I then had to go into the EA Launcher and let it download all the DLC packs. Once completed, I opened the game from Steam and all the DLC's were there and usable.

Hope this solves it for anyone else encounters the same problem.

Thanks for this post, this is something I had pretty much given up on ages ago, because I have all my DLC in the EA App as the sims just wasn't available on steam when I bought it. So I just carried on getting the expansions over there, to minimise issues. I do much prefer playing games on steam though. Its surprising that a program that I never gave permission to install on my PC in the first place is causing the issues. I might give this a go at some point, but I have most of the DLC now, so its gonna be a long download!

Yes, it took be several attempts of installing and uninstalling to eventually reach a resolution. Sorry to hear you had to make a double purchase. I wonder if that'll introduce a new issue if you own the expansions on both platforms.

I re-read my post above and I guess for anyone skimming it, the crux of my issue was that I had two versions of the Sims 4 installed. An EA Launcher version and a Steam version; and essentially two sets of files. For whatever reason, Steam still calls upon the EA Launcher so it created a conflict.

OneDrive was the wrench in the system because it prevented me from fully uninstalling the EA Launcher version of the Sims 4.

TL:DR - Disable anything that syncs My Documents (OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc). Uninstall every version of the Sims 4. Only install the Steam version after your EA-Steam accounts are linked. Use the EA Launcher to install the expansions/packs/kits on the Steam version of Sims 4. Very convoluted...

I should note that someone reported a different work around where they were able to copy file folders from one version into the Steam version. Never tested it, but in case the above doesn't work for people, you can try and find out how they did it.

I do not have this problem, but I am sure it will help someone and I just gave you the clap award, because you deserved it. I really do not know what the point is anyway for using One Drive if it is in fact mostly useless for The Sims 4 that seems to cause more problems than actually being helpful.
