What does everyone think of "For Rent"?
Is it actually legit?

I'm sure the world is going to be aesthetically beautiful like always, the animal sanctuary might be a rabbit hole but I think the apartment feature is going to be great to have because we can now create multiple families on a residential lot. You can put a high rise in Magnolia Promenade with up to 6 different units or more with a cheat.

Overall, I am under the impression that I am going to enjoy this expansion pack, it is obviously "legit", and already mentioned what I think what it is going to be like having six units from a different thread I made recently (where I would prefer to discuss in more detail from that thread instead of here), but my main concern closely relates to the nosey trait and how buggy this new pack going to be. The reason why is because even "without" this expansion pack I have noticed sims sometimes randomly walking into my households without my permission. Sometimes they will politely knock and then leave if I do not want them there, but sometimes they think that they can enter randomly without my permission which I am assuming might be a bug instead of an intended feature which is contrary to the nosey trait from this expansion pack. So what is the point of nosey trait if some sims will trespass anyway even without that trait? This first became a problem I think after I had gotten High School Years expansion pack.

Nosey trait would be less annoying perhaps because only some sims can have this trait and an intended feature, but more annoying for sims who do not have this trait and seem to act "nosey" sometimes from High School Years expansion pack. They do not ask to be best friend constantly anymore which I am glad was fixed finally, but they still walk in randomly unless if I have every door locked from the outside so that way only household members can enter or have the doors all open for a limited time only. As for bugs another concern of mine as mentioned previously, but I am hoping it is nothing too serious and game breaking that does not make it as bad as My Wedding Stories when it first came out.

i've always wanted to be the landlord in the sims and not just a tenant so if that aspect is fleshed out enough this'll probably be my favorite pack
Im pretty excited for it. Hard to say it will ultimately turn out but it looks very promising.
It is nice to have SE Asia in game but the items indicated in trailer do not represent SE Asia very well, it is more like a China Town thing for Western people. All 4 houses shown in trailer are not Asian enough for me. If comparing to Courtyard Oasis kit, I do not see the inspiration in term of architecture. The map isn't crowd enough to make it like you need to build apartment, if their map base on the center of the city will be more convincing.

But I am very happy about the new function able to build apartment, the only thing is I believe you won't be able to see all your units, they probably grey out and not sure if there are any loading screen while you going to your neighbor. I hope not. EA until today still cannot 'simulate' a life of the sim, like if you have 50 of them on a lot, I do not feel positive. Will they really have a life in these units? I highly doubt.

A bit worried about the whole burglary thing, can see that getting annoying unless we also get some new ability to defend our homes from the invader.

If they creep in and take our stuff while we're not home I will be very angry and will find a way to disable this as I take my item placement seriously. If I'm there and catch 'em - they will pay the ultimate price :TheGhost:

in the old sims games you could buy burglar alarms which would automatically call the police anytime someone broke into your house the cops usually show up before hey steal anything

I was thinking more along lines of pistol or equippable baseball bat :Like_Yellow:

Kleptomaniac trait is different than nosey trait right? Meaning that a sim cannot autonomously be a burglar without having both traits?

Looks promising, hopefully it will turn to be a good fun pack.

It's probably the last expansion I would buy. Honestly, this feature should have been in City Living, since that's when rental apartments first started coming into play, but oh well EA greed yadda yadda we've said it plenty before.

It's going to be expensive to be a landlord, but at least it makes for some fun playthrough. (also, yes, mods did this first, but it's annoying making all the mods work right (I haven't updated my own for a while lol minor bugs but still works))

I would be surprised at this point if we can realistically expect any expansion pack at this point to be bigger than "For Rent" which not only adds a new world, but also allows up to 48 sims living on just one lot as well from almost "any world" besides vacation worlds probably being excluded from this. This does however help make up for the lack of open worlds on The SIms 4.

I don't know. Every pack (except werewolves, very few things on this planet are more boring than werewolves) since Cottage Living has been the same. I see the ad, it looks interesting, I get excited I might enjoy the game again. I wait for reviews and say I'll get it when it's 50% off. And then the reviews and let's plays come out, and once again, it's a buggy, empty, disappointing, overpriced mess. And I don't buy it. I don't understand how anyone pre-orders anything from this company anymore.

Well i'm looking forward to it also.

I am unsure. I just don’t trust them that they can release a so big pack without breaking other DLC. I will wait for a gameplay + Lets play from a simmer which own all (EP)pack before I get it. Most bug reports come in the first week, so I normally know if I can live with the bugs or not. I will avoid it if we get break ins, I dislike klepto sims. I don’t want burglars in my game.
