Wedding and Reception
I just got "Wedding Stories" DLC and I don't understand why I can't book a Wedding and Reception in the same day? Doesn't reception comes right after the wedding part? What am I missing here?

to be completely honest you will be lucky to actually finish the wedding, it was so broken and they said they fixed it but i have my doubts

My Wedding Stories involves Wedding and Wedding related events that could potentially be fun, but not necessarily meant to be used for every Sim family. Also, another part that might be overlooked as well has to do with the fact that "My Wedding Stories" weddings can actually be made shorter and do not need the checkmark on for every option such as for example not allowing "slow dance" for example if the slow dance during the wedding event is still currently bugged out where your married sims are unable to complete this requirement if added. Fortunately, there is also an option as well for returning back the basegame public weddings for a free dual weddings mod if you want an easier public wedding event to go more smoothly called "Dual Wedding Systems: Enjoy Both Base Game & MWS Weddings" on Patreon that should be easy to find. For example, combining basegame public wedding event from a "Social Event" instead of a My Wedding Stories event from the mod I mentioned earlier and perhaps a wedding reception shortly after the basegame public wedding event as well.

If players paid money for DLC, they shouldn't have to use mods to have a normal events

That is true actually. It is also worth pointing out as well no basegame events have been replaced by anything, except for My Wedding Stories. EA has never done this before of replacing a normal basegame event on The Sims 4 until My Wedding Stories. I honestly would not be surprised if EA never does this again of replacing a normal event on The Sims 4, because of the backlash EA had received for doing this. My Wedding Stories may not necessarily be recommended either for console players, because mod use is not allowed on console. Also not recommended for people who do not want to use any mods even on PC or Mac, because My Wedding Stories is one of the few packs that requires a mod in order for someone to more fully enjoy this pack.

I bought the DLC because I love the map of Tartosa, to be honest.
The wedding features from the DLC just.... very eww!

The "My Wedding Stories" type wedding I do not mind overall actually despite it still having bugs, but at the same time not necessarily something I will use for every sim in my gameplays. Same is also true even for the return of normal public weddings from a mod, because number 1, it is a little expensive and number 2, it takes extra time trying to meet up with other sims even before arranging a public wedding regardless of whether it is a basegame wedding or not. Same is also true for My Wedding stories events that are not based on the actual wedding by needing your sim for getting to know other sims before arranging them.

There is also no catering and bar options anymore. My sims have to make food personally and carry it in their inventories to the event??? And the wedding gowns and suits... you would think there would be lots of various options... but nope, need CCs for nice stuff!

EA was trying to think about adding some diversity into the mix as well. Some of the CaS items obviously looks Chinese, Japanese (interest in dragons is not unique to only just China and possibly could also include Japan as well in addition to the fact that perhaps some of the things that the Japanese wear in real real life is similar to what the Chinese wear), and Indian (not much, but perhaps a little bit in the mix) from My Wedding Stories instead of American/European. However, this also means less variety from CaS that looks American/European. However, I actually disagree with you that their not enough variety from CaS besides maybe for the male sims and plenty of options for female sims as well just like many other packs doing the same exact thing from The SIms 4. I hardly use any cc as well currently besides a little bit (mostly hairs for female sims especially when it comes to long hairs and perhaps a little bit for medium length) from that of Curse Forge.
