Useless unless you play on Epic account, so all your Steam money, progress, and time are lost

Well not sure if it works with those games, but i know i bought some stuff on epic games for Uplay, and once you claim it and buy it on epic game store, you dont have to use it to play the game at all, I bought an assassins creed game on there and even a farcry, then i never even installed it on epic games, it was just on my Uplay and installed it from there.

Update: Also I just claimed the 3 DLC on epic game store, so you "do" have to install them on EA launcher, but it says I own them on EA launcher, so i dont see why it wont work playing it through steam but having the 3 DLC's from epic game store, i didnt even need to install it from there.

that's not true, You have to link the accounts is all. You then add the stuff to your origin account, Then when you launch steam it will be added. You can play the game on any of the platforms and the save is shared if everything is linked.

The only thing that won't happen is steam's Store GUI showing things as bought if you bought them on EA or Epic. But when you launch the game, it will show all the content you have purchased on all platforms, and will be ready to go as long as you added everything in Origin.

Please walk me through how to link accounts? I've been trying to do this but I'm lost.

Well you should already have steam linked here right? So then on epic, just click launch sim's, and it should pop up the launcher to link the accounts, Go through that. After it's paired, Open the EA app, and then ADD the dlc to your origins account, You may need to do a separate install on origin at least, I already had the base game installed. Once added you can launch steam and it should show up when you launch the game. to check just click on the My DLC tab, or what ever it's called. It's the second one over and make sure everything is added.

took 3 seconds to link the new dlcs on origin. idk how people dont understand the simplest things. say what you want about ea app but at least it lets us have steam, epic and origins dlc all in one place or no matter where you launch from. saved a ton of money

People might be skipping the step of adding to their origin account by launching origin and adding it in their manager.
