The Sims™ 4

Opinion on My wedding stories
Is the dlc still broken? I heard from 50/50 of others saying that is Broken and some are not?

I think it works well enough, but I also do not think that the wedding events from this pack are completely bug free either and especially the actual wedding; although, the bugs perhaps might be less noticeable if you do not include everything from the actual wedding such as the slow dance for example might still be bugged and the wedding might work better without it. I would strongly recommend getting the free dual wedding systems script mod from TwistedMexi on Patreon if getting this gamepack so that way you still have that option for basegame weddings as well, because EA foolishly decided this new wedding was better than the original instead of keeping the basegame "public" weddings which fortunately there is a mod to permanently keep the original basegame "public" wedding as well if using PC instead of console. Also, I would recommend Little Miss Sam's Lot dress code mod as well to make sure that all sims will only dress formal at the weddings from "My Wedding Stories" based weddings as opposed to basegame public weddings due to the fact that all sims will by default only wear formal from basegame public weddings. If you do not get this mod my concern is that some sims may not wear the appropriate clothes such as everyday wear for example instead of formal wear from My Wedding Stories type weddings; although, I did notice this mod was not needed for other My Wedding Stories type events besides the actual wedding.

Weddings and there minor events should not be the only reason for getting this gamepack. The world size for example is actually quite large for a Sims 4 gamepack in comparison to other gamepacks on The SIms 4 which is 9 lots, but the average number of actual lots that can actually be used from the other gamepacks is only about 5 lots from non vacation neighborhoods. Glimmerbrook for example actually has more than five lots, but usage of the lots behind the magic portal are also limited since your sims cannot actually live there. My Wedding Stories was one of my later packs, but I only purchased it with a 30% discount (which is the maximum amount that EA will allow for a gamepack) instead of at full price.

It works for the most part. I dont use any mods that impact that DLC and everything functions for the most part. I dont think the gamepack is very good. The game world is decent, but the rest of the gameplay doesnt really feel like it adds anything. Its one of those packs that most people will play through once and then ignore virtually all of its gameplay features afterwards.

The actual process involved in a full marriage, going through all the events related to it takes a lot of effort and in general is just boring. Beyond that I imagine most people just elope their sims or skip straight to the marriage and take like 2-3 wedding goals like slice cake and toss rice hehe. I cant imagine many people do wedding receptions and such on more than one sim couple.

So yeah if your question is does it work now, I would say yeah. But its a most certainly a sale DLC.

I thought the max was %50 discounted. I could have sworn I'd bought EPs and GPs at half price on Origin. I just wonder if I should buy it then, if I'm wrong. My memory is as old as I am.

If I do, EA App won't install anything. I'll have to install Origin again and stare at EA App's demanding pop up wall whilst Origin works dutifully in the background. It's the only way I can get my purchases installed. :p

Yeah, something has changed my mind about buying them so I no longer care, but I still don't think I'm quite ready to pay full price for Growing Together. <shrug> Dunno, maybe.

@James3157 where had you read/heard 30% is the max, though? I'm just curious now.

i created my own wedding lot and used the original building from the original wedding lot as a residential building instead. prime location along a small river and on the side a nice little swimming area with its own waterfalls. out the front there is a nice seaside, two swimming areas and what not.

I can't trust the game autonomy for anything, so travelling to a wedding lot for a marriage is sort of a waste of time until the developers sort it out, which of course they'll never do.

i brought the pack for the world and extra lots more than anything and the setting is nice as well, cross between oasis springs and sulani. most of the time the world has good weather, there are occasions were it gets cloudy or thunderstorms a few times. but once the sun is out, there are quite a few sims out and about the world, frolicking in the water, using the BBQ, fishing, building sand castles, walkbys and just chatting to each other.

It is not 50% discount anymore on Steam and it never was ever since I first started playing The SIms 4 from 2022 when EA was selling kit packs. I also never purchased anything directly from Origin or from EA App especially with my basegame being on Steam. Not only is My Wedding Stories maxed out at 30% on Steam currently, but all of the other gamepacks and stuff packs as well. Only exception are expansion packs maxed out at 50% on Steam.
