Do you have the Eco Lifestyle dlc? If so, does your neighborhood have the Foodie N.A.P.? If you don't know the 2nd, you can check by clicking on the mailbox.

as far i remember, it also happened before Eco Living DLC.
It's caused by common autonomy bug. but correct me if i wrong.

That has nothing to do with it. This is an issue that has been around long before eco lifestyle.

It typically happens around 4-6 pm in game time when sims everywhere on their lots get hungry and the first thing the game does is automatically assigns one of the hungry sims to a bbq to cook something when there is a free bbq on the lot (this always happens when you load into that household).

and look for lessautonomousgrilling mod in that list.

LMS has a mod, prefer leftover it's called, however it hasn't been updated for a few years, so it may or may not work.

As people have mentioned its not related to eco lifestyle mod, i do not own it so. I will try the mods people suggested as it does seem to be an autonomy bug :(

Hire a maid with the "Neat" trait. He or she will stand there and scrub that grill for hours. Literally all day long.

This is part of the PreRoll function in the game. Whenever you load to a lot, sims will be assigned to certain random activities (the ones I see most commonly are browsing the web on the computer, playing chess, watching TV, swimming in the pool, and BBQing). I think MCCC might have a function where you can turn off PreRoll, which should theoretically solve your issue (but it would prevent sims from PreRolling to other activities as well, so it's up to you if you care about that or not). I use Zero's Autonomy Toggle mod to specify which sims should/ should not PreRoll (among other autonomy things). Before I used a mod to solve the issue, I just didn't have grills on my lot because I was so tired of my sims making random mid-quality food and then setting the house on fire.

Nice job defending a multi-billion dollar company. Paragraphs and sentences are not important. Nice wall of text.

how is explaining out a stupid design choice of a multi-billion dollar company and trying to find a way around the idiocy employed by that same multi-billion dollar company with a 3rd party mod considered defending a multi-billion dollar company?

Yup but never mind. I'll give them a cookie. Tried to quote but it didn't work after I clicked post. I don't care enough to fix it.

Edit: Quoting didn't work again. Oh well.

i'm aware of that but even so it didn't seem like the the user in reply #10 was defending EA.
