if TS4 is something you like and can see yourself playing over a duration and you are sold on the idea of DLC's? consider them when there is a sale for them, a bundle might be your best bet for a good sized bit of content that can be added to the game.
I saw someone in a youtube video creating a sim in Sims 2, and it feels like there are parts from that game (like the personality sliders and attraction system) which would be cool in Sims 4. It's a bit of a mystery why somethings were omitted as they made the new titles
TS3 technically is a dinosaur and acts like it, you'd be lucky to get it running perfectly on modern hardware without having to do something to peg it back like shutting off memories in game for starters, having 30 different saves for one game and so forth. it's a lot of work to get TS3 to run as well as you can hope for after all the changes but that's no guarantee it will keep running over an even longer duration.
i never stated anything about updating your computer, i'm saying the game itself is massively outdated that you'd be lucky to get it to run perfectly.
I'm not sure what you mean. I still play TS3 with no issues, and no mods or CC. There's no work. You just hit play and go. I don't have any of the problems I have in TS4 where sims just don't do anything I want them to.
The only time I make an extra save for one game is if I'm not sure what direction I want to go in for something, so I can roll it back. Like if I want twins, I'll save before getting pregnant, since I don't use mods, I can go back and try again if it isn't twins.
I run it with Ambitions, World Adventures, Seasons, Supernatural, University and Pets installed, and a crap ton of stuff from the store. You do need to fix the fire station if you want to use that career, they put the parking space in backwards when they designed the lot so the truck can't actually move.
I currently run it on my gaming desktop, but for years I played it on a toshiba laptop that was running netflix or youtube on the tv at the same time. Ran it on a 300 buck gateway laptop before that. I'm baffled when people say it doesn't run for them, what in the world are you running it on? The only time I have issues is if I try to play Island Paradise, so I just don't play that pack.
I would much rather have one long loading screen with an interactive game on it that gives me in game points, when then lets you use the entire world with no loading screen, than a bunch of long loading screens to go literally next door. When TS4 first came out at least the loading screens were only 15-20 seconds long, but now it takes a couple minutes to go anywhere.
one user vs how many that have problems with it? i sure have problems it's very well documented all over the internet. so what if you have no problems with it, that proves nothing by itself. the point is as i've explained twice now and i'll explain a third time and as many more times as needed if you really want it that way, TS3 is a dinosaur, you'd be lucky to get it to work on modern systems perfectly.
It's a lot more than one user. The TS3 forums and discord channel are still filled with us that play with no issues. I guess we're all just 'lucky to get it to work on modern systems.' Just because you're louder doesn't mean you're the majority. Of course the people happily playing aren't documenting all over the internet, we're playing. I know you'll just dismiss this because your point of view is the only one you deem valid, but it isn't accurate.
