The thing is, as Steam requires Origin and origin is discontinued, how will it work for EA titles on Steam when Origin will be decommisioned?
I'n not sure why you are saying Origin is discontinued? It's working normally.
It is not, I meant "it will be", it has been announced that there will be no more development done on Origin and EA app will replace it. I do not see EA investing that kind of effort to maintain 2 different stacks.
At some points people on Origin will be migrated to EA app one way or the other.
But that is not my concern. My main concern is how this migration will be handled for third parties like Steam.
If I buy my EA game on steam and forced to use Origin today, what will happen when Origin is closed and replaced by EA app.
It is true that it should not be a concern to me as it is something out of my hand and it should be transparent to me as a customer paying for a licence to work.
My question is more going toward, isn't it more safe to just buy it through the EA app to avoid any migration issue?
Not something to worry about, Steam Sims 4 game will still work and will still be installed via Steam. Just will cause the EA app to open instead when we click the game open.
