Part of the reason why I never got this pack. Butlers might be fun on The Sims 4, but overall they seem like a downgrade in comparison to The Sims 3 that did not even require a pack to get them. You also have various different options with the door locks as well that perhaps might keep butlers out if their is an option to select which sims are allowed to walk through specified rooms.
Despite the rating of 55% on Steam being higher than various other packs I still do not think that Butlers are as good as they are on The Sims 3 even without me owning that pack. If the Butlers are more of liability than a benefit on The Sims 4 then why use them when at least half the time they do not do what they are supposed to be doing? Plus, I do not remember any butlers dying from old age on The Sims 3 either, but perhaps what you might need to do is turn all butlers into vampires because they can potentially live forever (if you own the vampires game pack that is)! I also sometimes miss the use of maids which contrary to previous SIm games you will not find them on The Sims 4 and instead only get daycare; although, one exception is Bonehilda if you get the Paranormal stuff pack who is perhaps in some ways similar to a maid and especially when considering the fact she is human when bathing makes it appears to suggest that she was murdered in the bathtub and/or cursed as well.
If you don't assign a bed for the butler, they tend to get over tired and don't work quite as well. However, when I do assign a bed, I get a new butler and have to keep assigning the bed!!! If it weren't for that, I wouldn't care if I constantly had a new Butler. Also, WHY IN THE WORLD DO WE HAVE TO TELL THEM TO GO TO SLEEP???? That's a pain, too! Because, again, if they don't sleep, they don't seem to work well.
I havent ran a butler in quite a while, but at least back when I did run them the reason for them swapping out when i left the lot is the fact the game spawns a new butler for each household with a butler. So if there is only one household in your save and they have never fired their butler then they should always have that butler. The moment you fire them or hire a new butler in another household the game creates a new butler. From that point on when you arrive on a lot which has a hired butler the game will pick from the pool of created butlers.
