Sims 4 can be run on a laptop?
I checked the minsysreq which means even an Intel GMA 4500 can run the game. But I like recent confirmation. It's an Acer Aspire laptop with hardware:

i3 10110U 2,10 Ghz
8 GB RAM
Geforce MX350 2 GB

I know it has a demo, but I want to gift as a birthday gift to my stepdaughter.

I think you're going to have a very hard time running the game with that laptop. I recommend going to Will It Run and checking the specs. The recommended is an i5 or faster.

you'll have no problems playing on minimum settings, the cpu is the weakest part of your laptop though, you won't be able to play on the highest settings because of it.

Just saying, the demo only have Create-A-Sim, which is probably the part of the Sims 4 lightest on performance. Maybe try maxing out graphics settings and see how it'll do. :)

If you're still not sure, I remember there're sites who host chip data. You can compare your laptop's with the Sims 4's recommended system requirements.

This is one of them

what i'm saying isn't opinion, the minimum specs are underneath what your laptop can run, meaning you can play it to min specs easily. the mx350 is faster than a gtx 650 according to benchmark scores, so you met the recommended in ram and graphics. the only problem you have is the cpu and that's preventing you from getting maximum settings.

the chances are that you can run high graphics but your laptop will be struggling when it comes to having multiple sims in a neighbourhood or lot as the game produces a lot of scripts to get the sims to do this and that. It might do you good to limit the amount of misc decorations you leave around the lot to a minimum to keep those resources as freed up as possible.

another issue you might face is how hot your laptop might get, so that might mean dialing back settings on the laptop anyway and that wouldn't have anything to do with the minimum specs of the game, that would be to prevent the laptop from overheating and shutting down. a laptop cooler might help but if you don't want one of those then drop some of the options to a lower setting and take the demand off your laptop.

Guys, I'm looking at this laptop to play the Sims 4 (I don't think I'll get all the expansions, but I'll still get a few) and it seems to have the required specs:

ASUS VB M1605YA-R55ALHDCB1
OP Windows 11
CPU AMD Ryzen 5 5625U (2.3GHz (up to 4.3GHz Turbo)
Hexa core
RAM 8GB
256GB SSD PCIe
AMD Radeon Graphics

What do you guys think?

This is a 3 year old post. Not sure why people are suddenly responding to it. I'm sure they've figured it out by now.

it "runs" on my laptop, a Lenovo Legion 5. It's just still glitched from the last "update" and not worth playing right now.
