Where can I find a child that was taken away?

I've tested this several times and I can't find a child that was taken away from the last family who had a child taken away by social workers. Someone said they will randomly show up when you a adopt a child, but I can't seem to find them. Someone else said they will be in a random family in Manage Households. I waited an in game week and no one has the taken away child. Where do they go and how do I find them for a different family to live with?

I've tried almost everything and I can't figure out where to get back the child that was taken away. I've tried to get a child taken away and going to a different family and getting them to adopt a child to find the one that was taken away, but there was nothing. I want to see if it's true that you can get back a child taken away from social workers.

AFAIK, children that were taken away are forever forgotten by the game, unless you have a mod that prevent this behaviour, but right now, I don't know any such mod. It is one of the rare things they brought from Sims 3 I wish they didn't, but sadly, they did.

i can't give you an answer as the mechanics behind this feature as i simply don't know how it works and i would need to study it enough in a way that reveals some of its quirks at the very least. Unfortunately i tend to keep away from this part of the game as there are aspects about it i just don't like.

MC command center has an alternative under MCCC setting->Gameplay settings ->adopt negated children, that make them be adopted by an NPC household instead of being taken away. But you need to activate it before your kid is taken away.

Do you have an earlier save you can go back to? In

~\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves

the game automatically stores the latest 5 saves as backups so as long as you have not saved too much you may be able to recover a save with your kid.

So it seems that any child that is taken away is gone forever. If anyone has had a baby toddler or child taken away, they will never get to see them since the game got rid of them. But I don't understand why this feature was removed because a lot of people who play Sims 4 have their babies toddlers and children taken away due to autonomy or something stopped them from getting food.
