And then run the game, open the CAS, check a button called"allow custom module" or something in English on the left. Then you can see the character you downloaded.
If you download mods from other sites it has an option to "install from file" click that option and then navigate to the file and it will install even from a zip file.
Works like a charm and i have nearly 40 mods installed through Vortex in Sims 4 alone!
All you have to do is click enable and elevate when prompted!
Do NOT use Vortex from NexusMods.
It breaks some script mods - and may start breaking more mods in the future.
Also, it may misbehave with non-English game versions.
TrayImporter + Nexus Mod Manager are still a thing.
