download a sim?

please help me learn what is needed to install a marilyn monroe sim into my game. i downloaded her from the sims resource, and am unsure how to place her into the files when my sims game is on here? very confused

Usually, the uploader will provide the files in two folders. "Mods" and "Tray". You need to put the "Mods" file to "Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods", and put the “Tray” file to “Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Tray”.
And then run the game, open the CAS, check a button called"allow custom module" or something in English on the left. Then you can see the character you downloaded.

as Mods, she means packages files go to Mods file, the rest to Tray

Use Vortex from Nexus Mods. Almost every mod you download from their site will be automatically loaded.
If you download mods from other sites it has an option to "install from file" click that option and then navigate to the file and it will install even from a zip file.
Works like a charm and i have nearly 40 mods installed through Vortex in Sims 4 alone!
All you have to do is click enable and elevate when prompted!

Do NOT use Vortex from NexusMods.
It breaks some script mods - and may start breaking more mods in the future.
Also, it may misbehave with non-English game versions.

TrayImporter + Nexus Mod Manager are still a thing.
