Cottage Living 64x64 lot question for early players
I know the Watson family is on a 64x64 lot, and if worse comes to worse, I will bulldoze that family lot to start a legacy there, but I prefer not too.

My question is, there is a vacant lot called 2 Olde Mill Lane. I don't think it is 64x64, but it looks like we can fit a 64x64 lot in that area if we bulldoze it. Have any of you who has access to the early game tried this and is it possible? Have any of you made a 64x64 legacy lot in Cottage living to download for a simple living farm legacy to be downloaded later?

According to the wiki, there are a number of 50x40 lots, two of which can be settled on immediately and a third is a park. there is only one 64x64 lot. the two 50x40 lots is 2 and 3 Olde Mill Lane.

I don't have a lot of information on this DLC and the only way to really know is when it releases on the 22nd of this month and it all comes out over the next few days. Anyone who does have early access is almost certainly an EA friend or a mouthpiece that has to be careful what they write up or lose it all, and they are likely held to an NDA or some such on the matter until release.

Yeah, you know about as much as I know too. I have been trying to dig up some info, even though I know things can and will change. I have already purchased the pack a few days ago, but won't be able to play/install it till the 22nd. I wanted to kinda plan ahead and see if that lot can be bulldozed and a 64x64 lot can fit in that area. I really don't want to remove the Watson family to use that lot space... but it may come down to it lol

This video gives a pretty good breakdown of the lot sizes and neighborhoods.

I really wish they'd let us place lots like they've done in previous games and make our own lots of whatever sized.

You can simply move them onto another lot using the "freerealestate" code in the console (ctrl + shift + c) and then you'd have your 64x64 lot.

I 100% agree with you!! Now that I think about it, I guess the Watson are getting removed and I am taking over their plot. I am used to the sims 3 where we can bulldoze and place lots.

Hopefully, there will be enough voices to state that we really want a 64x64 vacant for legacy or just a big farm. Maybe they will change that vacant lot to a 64x64 if they want us to keep their Watson family in our game lol.

Thank you for giving me that info!! I will use this method if they don't end up making a change before the release. I better freshen up on my sims 4 building, since I have really only played out the stories and not so much with building.
yeah it was a very strange decision to give the one 64 x 64 lot to a townie family. The watson townies inherited that family farm, it would have made alot more sense to give them one of the smaller plots if they wanted to give a story to the land for them because I doubt they will keep that land in many games :steamfacepalm: although I guess they gave up 64 x 64 lots to townies in Get Together as well

The one vacant lot that they are (so far) giving us, has enough room to be resized. That area is for farming, so I am not sure why they wouldn't provide us with one finally. Hopefully they will listen to EnglishSimmer when she said that many people will probably move the Watson family out and use that plot of land, in the video you posted. Maybe enough early access players players will voice that vacant lot to be resized to 64x64 *fingers crossed*

I am putting my vote here for the vacant lot to be resized to 64x64, please!! No building required, just flat land :)
yeah I hope so as well. I feel it would be a real missed opportunity not to have 2 64x64 plots especially considering there are only 12 lots total and the animal barns are quite large (I forget the exact size)

A 64x64 resize is not going to happen, not this close to release. It could happen post release in a patch in the middle of August but i have my doubts on that as well.

I also don't see the DLC being pushed back by a week or two, EA is notorious for their deadlines and dubious quality content in games because of it.
I can't see expanding an already created lot, taking more than a half hour and I think I am being generous with the time.

I think it is a fair request and I feel really bad for the people (edit to add that it was Devon Bumpkin that built the house and the pub) that spent time with the only 64x64 build lot in this world, with building, creating the family and the story. Don't get me wrong, all of the lots look great and well loved with the creation, and I totally appreciate and welcome the pack contents as is.

I will be sad to have to evict the Watson family and bulldoze the lot to create my own legacy farm land. There are a ton of crops ( I have all the packs except the retro workout clothes pack ) that I can plant and will need the land space. Besides, as The Living Darkness pointed out, the barns are a fairly good size. Most people will want at least 2 placed for a cow and a lama, along with the chicken coop and a pond. That is going to take up a whole lot of space.
