Launch The Sims 4 through your Steam library window. Steam should automatically install Origin (it will ask you for admin privileges first) and link license with your Origin account (internet connection is required for activation).
Also please make sure that you have "where to get apps" option set to Anywhere:

- The EA app
- The game from everywhere you've installed it to. Backup your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 folder by copying it to somewhere else on your computer like your Desktop to be sure you don't lose anything.
Then reinstall the game from Steam only. The Steam installation requires an installation of the EA app and links it automatically so these steps should correct it.
We don't need the game installed from both Steam and EA, it only needs to be installed through Steam. If you have DLC you've purchased and only have through EA it will work if you only have and run the game from Steam.
