If you do go looking for DLC's, consider Get Together and/or City Living as those two contain the most content for your buck/pound/euro/ruble/whatever.
I can't say if it is worth it to you, but if you are asking if i think it is worth it? no, it is limiting and a few DLC's will give you a marked range on how far you can go, and more freedom for households and lots.
My fave DLC is parenthood
If you want to play The Sims 4 as a standalone demo, by all means.
But I recommend not giving this company as much mone as they're asking for
That's fine if you're enjoying the demo.
But you're missing out on 38 additional DLC to improve and add to your gameplay
