The Sims™ 4

The Sims™ 4

Pricing?
6 buck for the base game sounds like a win win, but even at 50% off each dlc is up for 25 bucks a piece and thats only for the next 30hours, so full price, as most of you are aware is around 600-700 bucks for everything, that is so <insert every swear word known to man in pure rage>.

I loved playing most of the sims games growing up, especially 3, i actually have about 20 physical dlc cases for 3, (wouldnt you know my latest pc is discless rig zzzzzz) but i invested nearly a thousand hours into 3, love being a mermaid scientist or a wizard robotics expert, or an immortal vampire novelist billionaire.

So whats the deal with the pricing, which dlc is actually worth the outrageous prices and the base game overall worth 6 bucks? Or is it like gambling, the game ends up running fine, you like it, get addicted and then what every payday you blow 50 bucks on a random dlc til one day you have it all or ........

Also gameplay wise how is it actually, i vaguely recall some prehype before release about the characters emotions being more realistic or something, and the design of everything being more customizable and unique compared to the more blocky and robotic history we already experienced.

6 bucks worth base game? 25 bucks per dlc now or 50 bucks later still worth it?

I guess EA became less greedy if you compare The Sims 4 with that.
Yes, its true. But can the microtransaction items be counted as "DLC" or just new content. It was more like payed mods.
I think the main point is, that the DLC are overpriced.

You don't have all the Sims 3 DLCs. You probably only own all DLC packs for the Sims 3 but not all the microtransaction items that EA/Maxis released. To get all of those, it'll cost more than all the DLC packs.

The Sims 3 have 11 expansion packs that costed $40 each + 9 stuff packs that costed $20 each. But those are not all of them. There are also microtransaction items can cost a lot of money if you get all of them.

I have the sims 3 and 17 physical content packs.

Then you don't have all the DLCs. You're still missing the stuffs from the Sims 3 Store.

The microtransaction items are DLCs. DLCs = downloadable contents.

As stated previously: Microtransactions =/= DLC. Since by definition, a DLC is something you download but in many cases it doesn't have to be. (Purchasing Loot boxes for example).
The Sims3 store (https://store.thesims3.com) does indeed contain downloadable content, though this content functions more like mods, since they don't add as much as Game DLC.
I wouldn't put it at the same Level as a Game DLC, since its not really a DLC.

I would buy more from game if prices were not so awful. Like i all ready own some of these dlc for my experience and i noticed even stock game and dlc in general is worth less that 25 price in general.

When there is 20 dlc and prices on normal day is 50% each and you only unlock something like 3 things and 1-2 new hobbys etc. I cannot recommend. Even more some of stuff in game is broken or badly done... Like whole butler thing. When you have that and kid you will never touch that kid again. I had butler glitch that poor thing to room with no food and care. Took 3 days to get him shower where same thing happens as butler does it again.... He became 2 hair coloted fat teen who has anger issues and looked like something from mockery sight of angts....

Like if whole game and dlc were at max 160€ outside of newest dlc addons i would be happy to invest. But now... Even paradox ck 2 dlc practice is better

Base game isn't worth it even at 6 bux without some dlcs.

Given that fact, I'd rather have all dlcs and experience the full game, than playing with a sense that you're playing a demo
