The Sims™ 4

The full Sims 4 experience
So I wanted to check this out during the Steam Winter Sale and to get the game with all its content is $430 which seems like a crazy amount to pay for a video game, especially as seeing how new content is not through updates, it's through more DLCs to come. Does anyone know if there are any plans for a "Sims 4 Complete Edition" with a more reasonable price tag?

Yeah and that is on sale price. So insane. I have sims 3 with a majority of its DLC and it did not cost that kind of money when I got it on sale. Hard Pass. I have this game on origin with some DLC but gave up on trying to keep up with full content cause how overpriced the DLC is. Yet Sims 3 is not on sale at all right now which seems really odd being an older game during a holiday sale. They trying to push you to buy Sims 4 most likely is why.

is that all everyone sees, how big it is in its complete form? does no one focus on getting a few bits here and there, a starting point and as the months go along you can buy a few more bits without it hitting your pocket too hard?

I can't see TS4 getting a complete edition until TS6 is nearby upon us, assuming TS5 is a success enough to put their resources behind for a while, possibly 2030 sort of area with a TS4 complete edition?

There are a few voices on the TS3 forum of the idea about a complete edition and TS5 is nearly upon us, so while i can't even state for sure TS3 will get such a complete edition, it is still possible.

It's really best to do your homework on each DLC. Read the reviews it has on it's store page and any other fan sites, and check the guides to see if there are any fixes for problem DLC content.

You might hate some of the DLC. You might not need or care for some of the stuff packs. Some of the DLC may seem like duds to you, and some might be very buggy.

It's very hard to get rid of DLC for the Sims games once you have installed it, so be certain that you really want whatever DLC you buy.

I mean, if I want to play a game and everything it has to offer, I don't see that being a crazy ask. Like I said a lot of the content is gated behind these DLCs instead up just updating the game like most games do so I don't want a "frame" of a game missing some 30 odd packs of DLC that flesh it out.

It's EA. Even if they did a "complete edition" the price difference would probably be like $25 less, and they'd probably have a "Deluxe" and "Collector's Edition" that literally cost more than buying all the DLC, but include something like a pool table or tanning bed.

And that's just on sale. You're looking at around $800 for everything at a normal price. The base game is nothing w/o the DLC, just pirate it.

When is the next sale. I got a few things I still want.

Having played it a bit now I think €4.80 was a reasonable price for the base game. If dlc is priced this high then I don't need them.

No DRM

Enough said
