if its a blueprint or householdbinary it goes into the Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Tray folder
basically all the mods goes into the mod folder where as downloaded sims and lots goes into the tray folder
EDIT: .package blendfiles and TS4scriptfiles CFG files goes into the mods folder
The tray folder is for households, lots and rooms you have saved to your gallery page from within the game. those gallery items of yours shows up as a pile of SGI, HHI, Trayitem and Householdbinary file extensions in your tray folder (to put simply, since "0x0[numbers and letters].[file extension]" is impossible to make sense of).
basically gallery items? sure put them in the tray. those items will load. But if the gallery lots, rooms and households have the correct mod to go with it is another matter altogether.
if you don't have the correct mod, the game will automatically remove those features from the gallery item on loading. if mods and scripts are disabled? any modded content is taken away leaving bald sims in underwear, lots missing items all over the place and the same with rooms, all after they are loaded in from the gallery.
