I'd wait for a nicer sale, though. It's still pricy at the moment.
And I also noticed that when I tried to launch the game via origin it launches on steam as well.
I hope all the questions were answered.
Sorry for so many questions, haha.
Anyway, no, you can't launch it without steam. When you launch the game on Origin it opens Steam too. Also, I got a clean install (through steam) but it redownloaded only the dlcs (on Origin) and then Steam detected it.
My question is, if I buy more DLC on Origin (without owning the base game on Origin), will it work for me? Not sure if this is what the poster above is also asking.
Origin seems to have some deeper price cuts - for example at the moment Realm of Magic and Spa Day are 50% off on Origin but only 30% off on Steam. If I buy them through Origin will they work when I launch on Steam?
Yes it works...DLC's are tied to the GAME and not the launcher...
As it stands I bought the base game on both Origin and Steam but I have the Seasons DLC on Origin and University Life on Steam...when booting up the game through EITHER steam or Origin I have access to BOTH University Life AND Seasons.
Steam will not recognize DLC from Origin, and the DLC will not show up on Steam as owned. Steam will not download DLC you don't own on Steam. So the non-Steam DLC will have to be downloaded on the Origin client.
