True some bugs or glitches the developers have acknowledged they can't fix but TS4 has had many patches over the years and the game is generally playable.
That's true! There are so many bugs with each new DLC that people aren't allowed to report bugs on their official forums anymore. Now you have to report it to separate website so that it's harder for people to see that the pile of bugs is growing taller - some of which are still from the first year.
Avoid this game! Buy The Sims 3 instead!
you report bugs on EA answers HQ in the the sims 4 bug reports section. if there is a current bug report press me too once logged in. that is how it is done. or simply report a new one if it isn't already on the forum.

Yeah, I know that, but they won't even let you post bug reports to the forums anymore. The SimGuru mods always close those threads right away.
The Sims 4 actually has more bugs than The Sims 3, especially in live game mode. This is why most people who play it use it just to create and dress up sims and build lots, because a lot of the gameplay features are broken and sims don't do what they're suppose to do. If you do go into live mod, you need a ton of mods just to get it to work properly. Go to the official forums - it's all there for people to see.
The Sims 3 is finished. All the bugs have been identified and documented with fixes or work-arounds. I personally don't get a lot of problems playing the game (even if played for hours and hours) because once I've optimized the set up, it doesn't need to be done again. I play the game on a potato computer with 4gb RAM and integrated Intel graphics card, but have the game installed on SSD. It runs pretty well without much lag.
I love The Sims 3! It has a lot more working gameplay content than The Sims 4. All the worlds are editable, can add lots of any size up to 64x64 (bigger lots than those in The Sims 4) anywhere in the world or even remove them. Plus it has Create-A-World so that it has hundreds of worlds of various sizes made by players. It also has the color wheel and you can change the patterns of most every object and sim it has. The Sims 4 doesn't.
The Sims 4 only has a few worlds that are really tiny with much fewer lots each. You can't change any of the worlds or add lots. You can only play with the lots they give you - can't even change the size of them. All the game objects for The Sims 4 only come in a few colors so nothing matches. People have resorted to going outside the game to change colors and patterns for them, but that is so tedious!
So The Sims 4 has so many strikes against it. This is why the OP warned off buying this game.
