DId anyone actually enjoy the "story" this game had?
The game has plenty of issues elsewhere, but I overall enjoyed the environment and weapon art. That's it. Oh, and maybe this will open the way for more competant studios to do more well thought out WH40K FPS games.

The story was the most inane, stupid, repetitive, nonsensical ♥♥♥♥ I've seen in a game in a long, long time. Like some half baked drunkard decided to get creative and write some god awful 40k fanfic.

It's like every time the game potentially goes in a cool or interesting direction, the writers thought it was too much work and went with the simplest default choice. Any further delving into The Cold Black? Nope, better off just forgetting about it. Any sort of meaningful interaction with any of the gangs? Haha, nope just shoot them all. Who the ♥♥♥♥ is the posh guy constantly rambling about? No ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clue.

What about some more exposition about The Silver Talon, and what they're trying to accomplish? Nope, 5 minute cutscene 30 minutes from the end of the game with possibly one of the most tired, boring as ♥♥♥♥ explanation possible.

After all this endless ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, we're finally given some actual intrigue in a single cutscene two levels from the end, and it predictably was snatched away and never followed up on.

Frankly, with how this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a game ended feels like the entire thing was a tutorial and now we're REALLY going to see the game open up. Haha, nope. good one, that's it. That's the whole game.

Really feel like the story could have been half or less the length, and the areas unused be put to use for the side missions.

I'm semi-familiar with Kal Jerico and the Necromunda setting, but even with that, the story was hard to follow. The final mission dumped a bunch of exposition with no payoff (some things are never explained). And the actual ending had me going, "Wait, that's it?" This game really needed better writing, and probably a bunch more missions to allow that better story time to flourish. As it is, we're left on a cliffhanger with too much unexplained or unresolved, (Cold Black). At least the levels and graphics are great.:boltgun:

Kal Jerico from the comics is so cool. I was hoping there'd be a video game about him.

it was better than Sisters of battle release at Gw anyway

In my opinion, the story was good.

Let me give a short explanation.

Mass Effect series - popular - successful overall. Gameplay wise? Poop - simple, hence fun - but poop. But story? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥... overhyped. The plot itself is not amazing - I would dare say, Necromunda is 10 times better with more nuances (hah... that's a joke, but really, it is better).

The reason why Mass Effect is considered so good with the story is not The story - it's how it's portrayed. In Mass Effect you have very well made dialogues that are not too long, but also precise, not to mention - down to earth. No theatrical way of speech that is common for both fantasy and sci-fi - with long ass "explanations". No - ME told the whole long ass story through short dialogues throughout the game.

Now this game simply fails at two things: long ass unnecessary explanations that are long and vague, and what ME also gave players: choice. Stories in games are always so much better when you actually feel like the character - in Necromunda the main character is... I like him (since I've played male, dunno if females have female voices - would be weird, right?) but honestly I doubt many people also do. No real presence other than few gruff sentences here and there.

I really don't understand why people like to make points out of whether or not a plot is good (overall, as is the case in most cases) - if you strip majority of stories considered good, down to what happens - you won't get really far. I mean, Necromunda had what: friends that die, betrayal, vengeance, a mysterious figure, yadda yadda - but at the end you meet some Big Shot. It's not the story - it's how that Big Boss, i.e. Silver Talon was portrayed - out of nowhere Jericho comes, speaks little despite it being a very good moment to shed some light onto the whole matter, not just 3 reasons why, and Silver Talon basically screams that she's an unloved child and goes fighting.

Not to mention, good moment to tell players something about what might happened, to make them want to see more. Personally I don't mind short stories that end abruptly, but I believe I speak for a very small group of people here. Still, loved the game - one of the best FPS games as far as the gameplay goes I've ever played - the only issues are basically down to "endgame" and how little you really get from drops. Not a huge fan of H'n'S millions of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ items, but I think it'd give a far better incentive to invest time into this game.

I'm glad someone else brought this up. I had to limit the bionics I bought to keep my suspension of disbelief, because otherwise I'd feel like a broken edgelord dark heresy character that some idiot GM lets have techpriest stuff without the prerequisites, and who ignores grapnel movement rules and throws around high-level gear for just about everyone.

And I agree with the story stuff, especially given things like that Brickjaw guy; what's the point of letting him live, getting captured, blah blah fake choices that all lead to the same place. All the leadup to keep ending up in the same situation, time and time again. Oh this mission is over now, fade to black and cut to the settlement. Meaningless word salad to pad out killing another hundred mooks who all shout the same thing. The things I do to satisfy my inner dork.
hated the combat music and that was 90% of the game !

To be honest, my GPU died and my backup doesnt run Hired Gun so good, so I skip most of the cutscenes and dialogue because it immediately becomes a slideshow. The remainder is.....not great but I wasn't expecting much aside from an excuse to shoot beefy types dressed like goth lawnmowers. I did play EYE, so........you know. I was already not expecting masterful storytelling, even for a videogame. My legs are Ok, tho.

after a while I gave up on understanding it.

This is what I don't understand about Warhammer in video games. Literally over 60 licensed games in the past 10 years and it seems like each and every one is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ its pants trying to ignore the setting HARD. Like it's just there for aesthetic reasons or something, the game could be about futuristic European and Japanese secret societies having covert wars with psychic cyborgs and super jumps and the effect would be the same.

The story, if you want to call it that, was dull and crap. The last "twist" at the bar, or whatever you want to call it was meh. The Silver Talon reveal meant nothing to me. There was nothing for the player to grasp in the story and it's very abrupt as well. The only interesting mystery of the swordsman is never explained as well. Gameplay wise the game doesn't have much going on for itself either. Overall it's just a mediocre-bad game.

the voice acting, awkward cut scenes, character movement are all sooooo terrible. another bad warhammer game, who would of thought?
I simply hope that we change many pets, so as many guns, throughout entire storyline
