Farming good guns?

I've hit a wall at Chapter 8. I feel like I am not well-equipped enough to play and beat that mission and the problem is, my best guns are a Bolter +2 and a Gravgun +2. Biggest thing that I think are holding me back are my pistols as I'm only able to find +1 variants of them.

Any idea on how i can find better pistols?

Do side missions and loot all the chests. The chests aren't that hard to find and they spawn at the same locations. I think turning up the difficulty helps with the loot too. And maybe equip all the loot trinkets while you're at it.

The consumables you can buy specifically for looting chests will work in your favour. Always try to find and open the gold chests first, if you find the silver of rusty ones just remember where they are and hit them after.

From what I remember if a chest is booby trapped then your consumables wont get eaten on unlock, other than the consumable for disarming the trap.

My advice would be ignoring weapons and investing heavily into abilities, which are OP.
You will literally run non-stop through enemies, rarely (or not at all) using guns.

Depends on your playstyle. I completed the game without using any of the abilities and was solely gunplay.

Chap 6 on hardcore, first two chests, then go back to hq via starting point terminal, keep anything good, go back to chap 6 and restart and repeat.

Hardcore as in Hard or Hardcore as in Oldschool? I normally play on Hard tbh cuz I felt that Normal was too much of a cakewalk
