Pistols and other weapons...
Why can't we change / upgrade the starting pistol? I find this so frustrating...

Also, we should be able to equip more than 2 special weapon.
As it stands, we have 3 pistols and only 2 weapons we really want to use.

We really need one heavy weapon for bosses and ogryns and one shotgun or autogun/bolter for all other enemies.

I really would like to take my sniper rifle along but it's more than often a burden than anything else... Especially with respawning enemies.

The equipment screen really need a rework and we need to be able to manage it outside of shops.

The Bolt Pistol, Plasma Pistol, Sawn Off Shotgun and Autopistol are all pretty good.
Mesarthim Jun 4, 2021 @ 3:54pm
Yes, but they should replace that stupid pistol we cannot sell ! And other slots should be used for other weapons.
Warlok Jun 4, 2021 @ 5:03pm
Yes, I agree, even as early in the game as I am. I find it absurd you cannot swap the default pistol for *at least* any other pistol. Starting out with that as a default is fine... making it permanent is just an arbitrary penalty to the player.

It's a striking unintuitive screen, but other than that I don't really see any of your other points. Also shotguns are far from mandatory; all the DPS weapons vastly outperform them. For example the Escher Kiss is arguably the strongest weapon in the game, and it's a pistol class weapon.

I believe someone mentioned that the beginning pistol is locked because it is used in melee. Granted it would be nice if it did not take up a slot, and was just with us as a hold out pistol

I don't like shotguns in this game so I don't use them...
But having a bolter/autogun and a weapon doing massive damage for bosses is definitely mandatory ! Pretty sure you can play without but gosh that makes the fights too long.
Especially when bosses and bigger enemies are already boring.

If you don't think we should be able to change the basic pistol then there's something wrong ! That's just a blattant annoying issue !

Right now I use a long range version of the autogun and the gravgun... It's working pretty well and brought me to mission 10 + a bunch of side missions.
I don't see why we need to carry 3 pistols, 1 is more than enough. I already don't use pistols so 3...
Escher's kiss is probably the only pistol worth it but I don't think it's THAT good of a weapon.

That argument doesn't hold water. You can modify your pistol until it looks completely different, so there's no reason why you shouldn't at least be able to switch with an upgraded Ironfist.

this is about the only gripe i got with the game
the mandatory handgun
change some of the animations, like the chest opening animation
and give is a full control over the loadout, those few "cutscenes" where you pull out your stubgun don't matter, they can stay as is.

+1 !!! Or there should at least be a system to pay to upgrade it to a +3 !

Well, no... I have more gripes than just the inventory management.

Crouch / Dash could add separate keys because I usually set dash to ALT and crouch to C, I'm used that way and I use that keybind for all my games (at least the ones allowing to crouch and dash).

Also, we should be able to access to inventory to reorganize it.

The infinite spawn of enemies can be very annoying.

We should be able to carry basic+heavy+special+pistol.

Stealth gameplay should be improved too.

Heavy bolter sound is meh...

Having +1,2 an 3 attachments we can loot would be great...

And a couple other janky stuff !

No it is not, I would gladly take 4 pistols with me (or 3 when I could exchange the default pistol).
Yes, I want an additional (dedicated?) heavy weapon/sniper slot and I am glad we can take at least two "bigger guns" with us, but I also want/need my pistols!

The Bolt pistol is a friggen weapon of gods I'm just put that out there. And turning a Sawnoff into a wepaon that just fires giant slugs of iron F's up the robots.

But shotguns do not deal more damage to bosses than the DPS weapons. I would say they're much worse even, considering you'd have to get up close and all bosses in this game shred you to bits when you do (except maybe when you use the bullet time ability). Pretty sure a weapon with high penetration and headshots is going to deal significantly more damage than shotties.

Shotguns tend to do just about nothing at all against shielded or armored enemies. And any small fry can just be killed via takedown at short range. So why take shotguns at all? Just for the Ogryn?
Mesarthim Jun 5, 2021 @ 6:49am
Except the striker, I don't really like other weapons.

The gravgun is a lot of fun but heh... I need to find a better one.

Pistols? I don't really like how they feel.

I got a pump action specced for precision, and while it doesn't do much against armored targets, it's a headshot machine, which helps you get more points at the end of the mission.
