Regular choices that are highlighted in blue
Some choices are highlighted with a blue square box. For example, in the interrogation room at the police station when Conner is questioning Ortiz's android. I have 3 options: 1 Pressure it; 2 Probe its Memory and 3 Convince it. Option 2 is highlighted with a blue box.

On a casual first time run, what can you expect this to mean? Its like the game telling you "hey pick this one." But for what purpose? Is it the game telling you to choose this option to unlock another path? What if its a brand new run where no paths are unlocked?

Just for clarification, this should not be confused with the "unlockable" dialog options that come with investigating the world around me, as noted with a unlock symbol.

Thank you!

The blue boxed choices will result in some sort of action by the player that potentially could influence game progression.
Those blue brackets are tied to the present situation drastically changing paths but not yet to the point where it affects events and opportunities in the future. They usually lead to a quicktime event but not always.

In the example, the probe option will immediately skip everything else and use the quicktime probe option right away rather than being an opportunity further in the conversation. It's warning you that you're requesting the character take a drastic measure in the current dialog that will end the conversation right out. It's sometimes a better thing to do. It sometimes isn't. Either way, it's final.

What follows that is what will change the outcome of future events and opportunities and the options on what's available is affected by what you had Connor choose.

Blue box = action. Meaning it's not a dialogue option, it's an action the character will do (and the conversation will end here).
