Depends on your previous choices. It differs from being able to save everyone to the inability to save anyone.

Yes... it's hard, but it can be done. For me, the choices became clear after a while.

For Markus, choose the options that seem so preserve the life of androids using non-violence
For Connor, choose the options that seem to defy his programming or show genuine compassion or empathy.
For Kara, always select the options that treat her like a child should be - loved and cared for.

You do start to see a pattern in the questions and prompts given to you.

Are the android in your games dominant or rebellious? If Kara got shot then proabably rebellious. In that case, reload. There is a person drop a "pass card" earlier. Pick it up but don't give it back. You can use it to get pass the border.

Agreed. To make it slightly better though there is a bunch of different possibilities and characters can live or die depending on the choices you make, so it's not really a spoiler as much as you would think. Still rude though, most people try to avoid posting spoiler type stuff, especially in their post titles.

At the bus stop, steal the tickets to drive to the border. You can also find Rose and escape via boat, but if Luther is still alive he WILL die.

At the border if Markus is having a demonstration and the Public Opinion is sympathetic or supportive the guard with the temperature scanner will let you through.

Try killing all playable characters before the cargo ship raid section. Then something interesting will happen, the hidden ending not marked anywhere on the chart.
How to do it:
Kara - there are lots of possibilities to die the last being during Zlatko mansion I think.
Connor - Don't ask Kamski for Jericho location and fail to find enough evidence during Last Chance, Connor
Marcus - Have to die during Freedom March. For that Simon and John must not be present - Simon has to die during Public Enemy and John abandoned or killed during Spare Parts.

1. Peaceful revolution with Markus.
   
2. Get Bus ticket and don't return it.
   
3. Don't sacrifice anyone in the temperature control.

3. Save Jerrys / Luther and sacrifice one in the temp control.

There's options too in the river cross but i never play that line. Alice is cold
