Hank needs to decide which Connor is the real one

Spoiler Alert!
So at some point in the story there is an event where there are 2 Connors and Hank has to decide which one is the "good" Connor (the player) and which one is the evil one. They do that by talking about past events and what Connor has learned about Hank. A bit after that event though it dawned to me....
They have their serial numbers written on their clothes. Evil Connors serial ends with 60, and good Connors serial is in the 50s (it varies depending on how often you died during missions). So Hank could just have looked at the serial number.
Waht do you think about that situation? Was Hank dumb? Were the devs dumb? Did I miss something about this situation?

It dawned on you a bit later, the same would it would’ve dawned on the characters, if there had been time and no one was pointing guns around

Hmm you are right, Hank would have been pretty nervous in that situation and not thought about the serials. But Connor should have thought about it in my opinion.

Has Hank even bothered to learn Connor's serial? He's never asked. Connor never offered. Hank can barely change the settings on his phone (by his own admission).

Yes you are right, even if Connor would have said "look at my serial" Hank probably still wouldnt know who is who. He isnt Mr Monk afterall.
