But true !
Afterglow controller 29$ ..... I have 2 of them " bluetooth . "
Also have 2 Xbox controllers and again work fine these lat two a connected USB .
Change is good .
steam>settings>controller>general controller settings>uncheck playstation configuraation support
this game(the pc port) does support playstation button prompts.
Remember that setting because you have to enable it for games that don't have native support for ds4/5 and need an xbox controller. Steam made that setting to allow ds4/5 to work with those games.
FYI the gyro(motion) controls wont work no matter what but the touchpad will work within the game.
There shoudl be a way to have that setting unchecked for particular games but I dont remember.
It's been a while since I played this game on Steam, but when I tried it first, it worked fine with in-game UI having PlayStation style. I don't recall if I was or wasn't using DSX at the time. That program has undergone massive changes as well since I've played Detroit.
If you go full native (which works perfect for game like Until Dawn, including gyro controls on the 'don't move' quick-time events), with no Steam input, no DSX, it's unplayable. You cant even pick things up with the joystick. If you enable Steam Input, at least the joysticks work right; but in-game it's still xBox buttons. Even if you download community input packs for DS5, it still doesn't change in-game.
Changing gears, if you introduce DSX, and force PS4 controller, the Detroit Controller settings from steam will pick up it's DS4, but it still says incompatible. Even if you download community packs for DS4 - it STILL in-game shows as xbox.
I'm pretty good with testing and writing test cases, but I don't know what else to try at this point. DSX is definitely not a help, it just ad's a layer of complexity if anything. I'm not sure if it's because of the switch Sony made in apps to update the firmware of the controller, of if it's an issue with the Detroit game itself. My next step is to research if there's mods for Detroit to display PS style buttons; because I can't play like this on stream. There's videos on YouTube of streamers using the gyro to open doors with this game, somewhere along the timeline the functionality went into an alternate reality.
Then profit :)
