Controller Issues on Steam Deck

I'm playing the Meeting Kamski chapter and when given the option to shoot or spare chole it gives input options as 1 and 2 and it wont let me choose any option, I've tried bring up the keyboard but it wont detect any input there as well. Have also tried changing layout as well with no change.

same issue here... not sure what the solution is. maybe i have to plug in my computer keyboard for this part but that would be very frustrating

Hey there, figured this out. Turns out touching the trackpads or the screen even for an instant will make the SD go into mouse/keyboard mode until you hit the controller buttons or D-pad. You'll have to go back and start that chapter over but keep that in mind and those options should have controller button commands now! worked for me
