VK Error Device Lost Crashing
Hello. I played this game 2 years ago and was able to get it working but now I'm playing it on a new laptop I got with a 3070 and I'm getting random crashing with this error message popping up. Has there been a reliable fix developed in the last 2 years? This is pretty embarrassing.

I already tried deleting the shader cache and installed the newest version of C++ Visual Suite. I can't roll back my drivers based on the recommended ones I have found because the installers say they are incompatible with my version of windows and / or system. I just can't believe this problem hasn't been resolved in 2+ years. Relying on ancient drivers is not a "solution." One day I'll have a RTX 7080 and 8 year old drives aren't gonna cut it.

I'm having the same issue and nothing seems to solve. Before the vk_error, the game plays perfectly at 60fps, no lag or anything, then crashes out of nowhere with this error. Having to recur to drivers from 2 years ago is completely outrageous since this is not the only game I am currently playing nor planning to play in the next days. So I'm gonna have to keep changing drivers between games? The game's been out for so long, isn't it time to solve this, since it's such a common problem?

Ironically I have tried the game on my Steam Deck and while it is a 30 fps experience, it is stable and doesn’t crash randomly. Absolutely hilarious. Probably indicates it’s a Windows / Nvidia problem.
