How to skip cutscenes?

The game encourages you to replay, but I can't find a way to skip cutcenes. Certainly they wouldn't omit such a trivial and vital thing after spending so much effort on branching and replayability features? There is no way to enjoy replays watching the same scene dozens of times.

i’d say it makes sense, they put a ton of work into cutscenes

They've also put a lot of effort into multiple branches, but most people won't see them, since they don't have the patience to watch the same set of cutscenes five times in a row. I don't think anyone will skip that at first playthrough, but seriously, watching them over and over doesn't make sense.
