Would Connor become a deviant after dying 6 times?
Connor died every times before 'Crossroads' but his software instability was high enough. I had this idea when I achieved "I'll be back". But the story is too long and I don't want to play again.

Connor have pretty high safe zone of always turning deviant even with deaths .. but i believe general consensus is that shooting Chloe in head is the ultimate turning point that can remove deviant option on boat

Don't think about it. Worlds and stories of QD games could never have any kind of internal logic and consistency.
