Massive Frame Rate Drops

Start of a new chapter, scene transitions, story transitions, all cause massive drop in frame rate. I even turned the frame rate cap down to 30fps. It will be running fine then drop down to 4-8 fps for 10-30 seconds. I have to pause the game until it stops.
Does anyone know what's causing this?

It's funny cause the demo didn't do that, and it started about 3 hours into the game, just past the point where I could refund it.

Have you tried disabling the steam overlay for the game? I had the same issue and it fixed it for me.
Also, if you have that same option with your video card, disable it's overlay also.

Same here. I'm pretty sure this problem's appeared with the release of the new driver for nvidia, version 535.98.

Iirc, last time i played it, the only thing that actually made it run completely smooth was installing some old gpu driver version(speaking about nvidia) dont remember the exact version of drivers, look it up on the web.

This game needs at least 12 core processor to run properly. Because she loads it 100% at times and the fps drops )

I had the same problem with the nvidia driver 535.98. I got the new one, 536.23 and now it works fine. Hope it helps.

This did the job perfectly for me.
During the last few days, the exact same issues mentioned in the disscusion topic started happening to me, just out of nowhere.
I just finished doing what was recommanded in the video you posted here and it nailed it, back to playing the game rn
