compiling shaders for more than 40 min s

i have an 10700k and 6900 xt and i'm at 40% in a bit more than 30 mins. Is this normal? I'm thinking of just refunding the game honestly.

Same here using 5600x and Rx 5700 Xt. Only using 1 % GPU and 30 % CPU, so seems like really poor optimization.

i have refunded the game. I'm the king of person who updates his drivers frequently so i won't tolerate this mess.

Sometimes just sometimes it pays NOT to be so quick to update the drivers.

agree but for me downloading the game 5 mins , than install shaders takes enough time to past my refund time window. Hell no , this is not normal. I have never seen this in 12 years of pc gaming. Maybe my system is at fault but i have an 10700k and 6900 xt and have no problems at all anywhere. Also i bought the game on epic. Maybe steam as a different version but for 8$ Canadian the epic store seems to worth it.

Had the same issue on first start today - 40 Minutes on 5600x and 5700xt
Previously tried the demo - everything was totally fine :/

Honestly it sounds like an amd related issue. Tried it on two intel computers consistent 100% cpu usage and quick compile times. If I were you I would wait it out. The game is totally worth it even with the egregious shader compilation time you are experiencing.

Yeah, played and enjoyed it. But if it happens after every driver update... :'(

People with 2xxx and 3xxx GeForces are also experiencing some issues with shaders and stutterings

Took seconds on my 5800x if anything it’s an AMD GPU issue.

you are probably right but for shaders its the cpu that is normally suppose to do the work and not the gpu. i honestly will buy the steam version just to test it out. Might be an epic version of the game issue also . I'll let you know
