Detroit: Become Human

Detroit: Become Human

View Stats:
Lag spikes in transition from gameplay to cutscene.
I can run the game perfectly fine at high settings, at 60+ FPS, but whenever a cutscene is loading to be played, my FPS tanks to 4-5, and usually takes about 10 seconds to recover. Has anyone experienced this? Anyone know for a fact what causes it? I suspect its that im loading it on a relatively cheap SSD rather than on my M.2 NVME, but i want to know for sure before uninstalling, allocating space, and reinstalling. Another thing i suspect it might be is that my screen Is set to 100Hz refresh. The fact that Detroit is poorly optimized, and only allows 60FPS max makes me think that could also be the culprit.

In setting Of Detroit Become Human did you change to 60 fps .
From what I remember that is one thing you should not change .
Why I do not know ... but I was advise not to by the Maker of the game . :steamsalty:

I really dont want to play a AAA title at 30- FPS. That sounds like a horrible experience. They need to optimize the game better.

My PC is 144 fps.
But I did not change it .
All is ultra except I did not touch that 30 Fps in their setting .
My game and visual is as good as anyone .
So darn real and no lag .

Sounds like the same problem that I have.

I've tried changing video options but the lagging remains whatever the settings.
Using a Nvidia GTX 1070 with latest drivers as advised in the pinned Topic concerning Nvidia GPU's.

I hope they find a fix soon, bit of a game breaker unfortunatley.

I have 2060 Super and i get massive lag spikes. Which is weird because i ran this game 1 year ago on the same system with the same settings and i didnt have a single lag spike.

Lots can happen in one year.

I updated my drivers before installing, as well as my Windows ver. I have added/changed the games that are/were installed on my drive. The drive it is installed in had more than enough free space.

It's the game that has compatability problems with newer Nvidia drivers, not hardware or other.
Quote from pinned Topic...
*********
It has come to our attention that a few players are still experiencing Stutter Issues when using recent Nvidia Drivers, which don't seem to occur when using older driver versions such as Version 446.14 from May 2020.
**************
So you may like to test Vs 446.14 to see if that fixes the stutters.
I'm not rolling back because other games I play require later driver versions.

Waiting for the game Devs/Nvidia to find a fix.

Be good.

Yep. Game was fine a year ago and now runs like crap no matter what settings I change.

RTX 2070
i5-9600K
16GB DDR4
2560 x 1440p
Win 10

Refuse to roll back drivers to continue playing this game. Will just have to wait for it to fix itself in another driver or just never play it again. Oh well - went a year without playing it I don't need to ever play it again.
