A save files local or cloud?

Do the files for your game get saved to your steam account (skept upon uninstall), or local (deleted upon uninstall)?

Yes. I want to know if its safe to uninstall, or if i need to mess around with game files.

Aside of uninstallation processes usually don't just delete saves the answer is both if you have the cloud enabled in your client. And you should practice regular file backup. So 3 places where your save files are.
