FPS drops
Hello All,

I've sent support@quanticdream.com my Dxdiag report, though wondering if anyone else might have the solution?

all my drivers are updated and I'm currently using Geforce driver 471.69, I was using 471.68 but I was still getting the same issue, I updated to see if there was a fix.

any help?
cheers

Usually it boils down to downgrading your videocard driver to before the begin of lagging version. And sometimes about switching fps lock between 60 and 30 (but it rarely helps). Personally, I just endured those freezefest moments (since they're mostly only in escape-in-morning mission and 2 final ones). Was quite infuriating, but no way I'm tweaking with drivers for a game I paid for.

If you are using a GTX series roll back to 446.16. I had the same stuttering problem with all my games and since I rolled it back I've had no issues even with new releases.

I don't have stuttering in any other games I play, only this. I've given up trying to play it now.

Same - RTX 3070, i5 9600, 3200mhz ram 16gb. I have fps drops to 1 fps, during which game freezes. Drivers 471.96, it luckily doesn't happen that often nevertheless it is annoying. I also wonder why game is capped to 60 fps. I heard it is console port, maybe that's why it is not optimized for PC?

I also have this problem and it's quite irritating. Right now I wonder if I should try to downgrade my GPU drivers (NV 451.67 or 446.14 are reported to solve this problem). But these are drivers from mid-2020... It kind of suck being forced to do this just for one game.

Apparently this title has issues with new video card drivers. I don't know if it’s Nvidia's or Quantic Dream’s fault but I think it's the game developers responsibility to fix it by patching the game.

One more remark - I don’t really understand this shader technology, but the other game that I recall using this lengthy shader install process is the CoD Modern Warfare (2019) and I also had a lot of issues with it (terrible fps drops even in menu). So this shader caching seems to be the most likely culprit to me, but I'm no expert.

Same here, with a Ryzen 7 5800x and a RX 6800XT, 32 GB RAM. It often jerks when the scene changes

Remember old days when games used to run relatively without problems? I don't remember - I had any problems or fps drops in old games! Nowadays it is only problems... Something like F.E.A.R. runs perfectly to this day. Or Half-Life 2. But nowadays games are too complex and being pushed out early by investors, also NVIDIA has to release game-ready drivers for each game, which adds overhead to their drivers, which are already broken beyond belief and they are not fixing anything... It is easier for devs I guess, because they don't have to optimize their games for different GPUs! It is already standard that AAA games come out bugged pretty much... And they struggle already with game optimization, probably don't have time to optimize their games for every GPU out there...

Beautiful game, but the stuttering ruins the experience. rtx3070ti here and it stutters and freeyes 6 times an hour, its basically unplayable for me now

I tested a lot NVIDIA driver versions in Detroit, and realized that all drivers released after 17 September 2020 game starts to have freezes. So exactly after that version (456.38). But there are one more thing, these drivers are first, that's start to support 30 series NVIDIA GPU,s

Yea, as soon as I updated my driver to current release I got major stuttering/frame drop in all of my games. Rolled back to 446.16 and have had no issues with any other games, even new ones like COD: Modern Warefare/Warzone/Black Ops. No more updating for me. Detroit is my favorite game off all time so if everything works fine right now, imma leave it like this.

Weirdly enough it worked fine for most of my first playthrough (started/finished this week). Now it constantly happens whenever a new scene starts or ends.
