Vertical tearing
I've noticed I'm sometimes getting vertical tearing. My fps lock is at 60 and my monitor is 144 hz. I thought tearing didn't occur if your monitor had a higher refresh rate than your frame rate. Am I missing something here?

Tearing can pretty much occur at any framerate. A high refreshrate monitor can make the effect less noticeable but tearing can still be an issue.

Does your monitor have Gsync/Freesync? It shouldn't tear at 60 FPS if Gsync/Freesync is activate and working.

It does not have Gsync or Freesync.

In that case, screen tearing is to be expected.
Here is a guy showcasing screen tearing on a 144 Hz display:

You will need to use vsync as a solution but that can add input lag.

Okay, I'll go ahead and try out vsync. I'm just surprised that it would occur when the framerate is so much lower than the refresh rate. But, I know nothing pretty much when it comes to these things, lol. Thanks for the help.
