Detroit: Become Human
Any mod to remove QTE?
QTE is evil and in this game it's taken to the extreme. Is there any mod to remove this?

Play casual mode.

If you take the QTEs out of the game, you have a movie.
Best way would be to enjoy a full playthrough on youtube then. The qte's can get a bit challenging. specially when the RB and LB come into play.
Watch it on youtube then.

So the only thing that separates this from a movie are QTEs?

Are there no dialogue decisions? No choices to be made?

It's just QTEs?
Theres nothing wrong with the QTE's, it adds interaction to the game, they get abit fiddley when you have to hold 3 buttons and button mash but its not difficult.
There are dialogue decisions to be made which effect how a person reacts to you.

Not wanting to necro this thread, but in case anyone else has this question: You can play DBH no problem in the simplified-control mode. The story appears to remain exactly the same, the only difference is that instead of having to mash a totally random set of buttons you only have to randomly mash A or B to get through 'combat' or other tight situations. Since what you have to mash has little relationship to what's actually happening in the game, playing it on 'easier' just makes the nonsense controls less frustrating. Imagine a racing sim in which, on corner one instead of steering you have to push the A button at least 7 times in a row quickly, and then pull a random stick upwards and then mash a totally random trigger twice with a random press of the Y button thrown in somewhere for no reason whatsoever. Then you get to another corner and instead of using a racing-wheel, clutch and pedals, you have scream 'hey nonny nobny ' into your mic; in a falsetto. The QTE controls in DBH make just that much sense. It's really too bad as the story is pretty darn good, but why the saddled it with such as freakish and bizarre control method I'll never understand. Just let me aim the gun, or run the direction I want, or duck using a normal method and timing, or, or, or, ANYTHING other than making me attempt to flail at a completely random sequence of buttons. WTF? Sadly, the controls outside of combat actually makes some sense; like moving a stick up to pick something up, or sideways to slide a door sideways. So the devs had *some* concept of what games controls are supposed to be like, but then decided not to use sensible methods when it actually matters.

Unfortunately this studio (and David Cage) seem to be in love with QTE ever since Fahrenheit 351 used it and somehow got critical acclaim (that game also had relatively "normal" controls outside of QTEs). It probably didn't help that their games seemed to actually get better despite the QTEs (and were better received), so I guess they figured they had a "winning formula" and stuck with it.

I agree that the QTEs are stupid - they've always been cancer and will forever be cancer. Most of the time they exist to have you simulate some real-world action - such as scrubbing a floor or something - and for this they aren't TERRIBLE (although one would question why someone would need to "simulate" this action in the first place). But when they extend it to combat, it's a bit crazy.

I don't 100% agree on how they match up to the action though - there is SOME correlation between the events and the actions taken. It's just that these actions seem to vary depending on who the character is, and they're still QTEs and therefore still cancer.
