I used reshade once and didn't find it made that much difference. Probably better off without it if it causes issues.

However, if the game says VK_ERROR, you need new graphics card drivers.

If your graphics card doesn't support Vulkan then it won't work. If it does support it you need an up to date driver with Vulkan 1.1. The need for Vulkan is clearly stated in the system requirements.

You can download vulkan, it's a package that comes with games, just like DX.

That is true, but, whether or not it works with certain cards can't be guaranteed. I'm sure somewhere there will be a list of cards that support it.

that's not how api's work friend, Vulkan will work on all videocards it's the feature set that is important. if you're on old cards it does not utilize the feature sets the game requires, so it is dependant on the game too. QD says it uses Vulkan 1.1 because that was the lastest version at the time, Vulkan is now at version 1.2

Whatever, let me know if doing a clean install worked. I never had any issues with the Epic version of the game or the demo. When I installed Windows 10, it gave me a driver for my RTX 2060, but, I uninstalled that and did a clean install of 445.87 and it has been absolutely fine ever since.

yeah mine is also RTX 2060, i tried to disable the integrated graphic (mine AMD RX vega 10) and let the RTX on, it runs better but keeps the game visual freeze. so irritating.
already tried to install vulcan too but its useless.

Worked for me. I had forgotten I had an old version Global Vulkan ReShade enabled and it broke Detroid.
